i do have another thread like this but i thought i will make another one because the other one has a totally different thread name from the situation now.

here it is.

Im quite short so i thought it will either make the bike look really big or i will look small and stupid, but it seems about right.

i do have another thread like this but i thought i will make another one because the other one has a totally different thread name from the situation now.

So. now i need some *kits* now

1. jacket
Im looking to buy a textile jacket i got a few im thinking of but i need to remember to leave money for a helmet.
budget of around 60 to 90 pounds.

these 2 are the 2 im thinking but i would like more to think from..

2 helmet
i currently have one but i got it second hand with another bike, its really really baaaad. unbelievable its just enough to get away from cops pulling me over, its got shaded visor as well.

i would like a full face good looking one.
Not too fussed about design but would hate a pink one.

thanks ray

EDIT: the indicator relay is wearing a bit low... i turn the indicator on and 2 seconds later you see the lights starting to flash really fadedly and 4 secs later it turns normal.

Funny, the NSR I had did exactly the same. When was it last rode properly?

i paid 1100 with delivery for a 2001 reg. its been on its side once and its got scratches but the engine runs fine.
it was last rode propperly 2 months ago but the engine was turned on every 3 days apparenlty

There are plenty of decent helments about for little money, just get one in last years colours.
Do not skimp on helemts, and never use someone elses/buy second hand, it wont fit properly and your head you only get one. you should replace every 3 years prefereably 5 maximum for a good lid like arai or a good shoei. treat you head with a half decent helmet, hope fully you wont, but one day you might wish you did.

actually that will make sence, the battery does seem old and the bike didnt start this morning. i charged it and the meter only took 20 mins to go to 0 amp. which will suggest that the battery is old.

but then again a capasitor can get knackered out

im still getting used to the enormous weight of the bike between my legs...
its really hard to go slow and theres a lot of skills i need to brush out on,
i think it will be days and weeks before i set out on the road.

i will be carefull my friends, pals, and aquaintances (sorry for bad spelling)

Cheap but quality gear, you cant go wrong with Heine Gerike(sp).
Their leathers are good quality same with the textile jackets and they are not expensive.

Nice looking bike btw.

i dont care what anyone says you should not scrimp on any kit for a bike, you only have one head so protect it well Shoei is a top brand but most are race spec so you wil need ear plugs, clothing must have ample amour fit snug it all has to be real comfy on as well, last thing you want is to have a zip anoying you.

I would seriously suggest you go and try on yer kit and not buy from ebay.
Yes it may be cheaper but how much is yer skin/head worth?
If you buy a jacket that is misfitting and you come off it can ride up and then its just skin and bone and nice hard tarmac .

Here is a post from one of the owner clubs on helmets and helmet fit .

The most important piece of bike gear you will buy is your helmet, and the most important piece of your anatomy is your brain, so you need to get it right.

The cost of a helmet is not the issue here - all helmets have to conform to certain standards, so although a more expensive helmet may offer a little more protection, even the cheapest ones have to protect you well. The difference in price is usually more down to quality of things like the interior and visor fittings, than the quality of the actual shell.

Firstly, make sure you get the right make. Not everybody's heads are the same shape, and not all helmets are the same shape either. I for one, much as I would like to, cannot wear Arai helmets.

When trying a helmet, make sure that any pressure is evenly distributed around your cranium. If there is say, undue pressure on your temples or forehead, try a different make.

Although helmets may carry the same size markings, fit can differ from make to make, and even between models from one manufacturer

When you try a helmet for size, it should err a fraction on the tight side, to compensate for compression of the interior padding. This compression is necessary to ensure that the padding moulds to the shape of your head, and thus remains securely in one position. However, as said above, there should be no undue pressure at any point on your skull.

When you think you have the right size and fit, put the helmet on and fasten the strap securely. Get a friend to stand facing you. Lower your head, and get your friend to grasp the base of the helmet at the nape of the neck and try and pull it forwards over, and off your head. If there is undue movement, try the next size down. If you get to the point where the helmet is tight, but still wants to come off, then try a different model/make

Don't ever buy a helmet mail order - because helmets are generally hand-assembled, there can even be slight differences in fit between two helmets of identical type.

What price your life? - get it right first time
Hope you enjoy the new bike
(Btw please dont ride it again with no insurance ;) )

Helmet fit's so important. I use a pretty cheapo make for MX at the moment, but I bought a second one in a row because they fit me so well. I tried a few other brands on (well all they had at the shop) but picked the same lid again in a different colour because it just fits me spot on.
