I got my nsr!

I have heard rumours that a lot of the protective gear on ebay is far east immitation stuff. Not the kind of thing I would like to be wearing in an off tbh

Seconding what Mohinder/Persil said, the different brand helmets are all different shapes and sizes so it's very important you try a few on and the size up and down from what they give you. You'll know when you have the right one on.

I tend to spend around the £100 mark and you'll be able to feel the well made ones from the cheaper ones. Some of the cheap ones sound like you're wearing a plastic bucket when you tap them.

Takachi make some nice value helmets if they fit and are approved for motorsports which can only be a good thing.

Another thing about helmets.

Don't skint yourself buying a helmet. Yes, you need a good one - but you also need to be sure you can afford to buy a new one if you drop it. I spend about £80 a go on lids, and if they get dropped or knocked or old, they get replaced. If I had a £300 Arai... I wouldn't replace it so readily.

I'd rather have a brand new £80 helmet than a worse-for-wear, not quite sure if it's damaged Arai.

right soo im not meaning to get my bike deristricted but i got one question.
once you deristrict a 2 stroke 124 can you actually get 33bhp like it says on some ebay auctions?
my friend says no and laughed...
IF it can do 33bhp can it over run a ristricted 400?

No you wont get anywhere near 33 at the wheel mate, especially from an NSR, an RS when fully de-restricted but still with the standard system was about 26, probably looking at 27-28 with a nice system on it.

I'd guess the NSR would push 24-25 when de-restricted :)
