You can appeal the fine if you provide evidence that the sign was small and far away. If it was actually 200 yards and tiny you could have a good chance. If you've payed it might be a bit late now though...
Taxi Ranks are for taxis (and I think buses) only. Same rules as a Bus Lane. They dont become empty at night because of the shops being shut, they are a designated areas for Taxis to park without restrictions, and as a designated areas where public can get a taxi. They are not a free spot for you to park your car and so if you got towed its your own fault. The fact its been happening for years probubly means your local police have only just bothered to sort it out.
Youll be complaining you got towed from an ambulance bay next!
THere may be a timespan during which it is a taxi rank. In my town centre, it is a parking rank as from 6 pm to 6 am or something. In the day it is a free 30 min public car park. In the OP's case, it could be the other way round and written on a sign. And unless they make it clear, it could have been an unlawful tow. They could be unlicensed clampers, etc...the list goes on but all obviously depends if the OP disregarded signs or it there were none around.
Owned.
Didn't know you could buy a graphics card, PSU and HDD for £105.![]()
actually its roughly 210 dollars(pound is more strong than the dollar) and as the usa is under recession you can probably get a ok gpu for really cheap!
but that £105 was going to last me the month but now I gotta go into my money for the card etc. which means its on hold till next month![]()
you parked in a taxi rank and your complaining, lol, face it, its your own fault be a man and get on with it, next time park in a disabled spot at asda and see the £60 fine they whack you with
I think most people have read the whole thread.
You parked where you shouldn't and got a parking ticket - that is a £30 fine.
If you'd got back to your car quite quickly then that is all you would have been fined, £30.
However you not only decided that parking rules don't apply to you for a short period of time (like the double-yellow, hazard flashers) you decided that they don't apply to you for long periods of time.
So you were subsequently towed - £105.
So your total fine for being lazy and feeling that the parking rules should apply to all but yourself was £135.
Quite a dent in the pocket, made for an expensive night out and maybe you'll think twice about doing it again.
If they had just slapped you on the wrist you'd be out doing the same again next weekend.
