I grew up in the wrong era

Ill probably be dead when all that comes out, oh and living in space.
You'll be dead ..... and living in space?

If the future holds some kind of sci-fi version of Dracula, replete with undead astronauts, I think I'd rather not see it. :D

But when your in your 60's and 70's you may be able to witness some amazing events that had you been born earlier you would never have got the chance to witness.

You may know what you've missed, but you don't yet know what you will experience.

I'm having a bit of a midlife crisis atm/old man syndrome and I keep thinking that I was born to early. Apart from The Transformers and Cindy Crawford, there was nothing good from the eighties. The nineties were pretty good, but I do wonder how it would be all different with so much more gadgets around and the internet almost a requisite in every house...

now it's just the same old music day after day.

Rubbish. People have a massive tendency to get nostalgic, particularly where popular culture is concerned. The music and scenes of previous decades has only emerged fully with retrospect.

Carzy and/or Sic will come along soon and tell you that there's stacks of great music currently being produced, but I've beaten them. Ha.

80's = Punk and Goth,
and more really good indie bands than you could shake a festival at.

we now have boy bands, and "Oh, yeh, baby (& repeat)" dross from the US

kill me now.

Not proof reading my post again DOH!!!!!!
:D

If there's a way to misconsture what someone meant, my perverse sense of humour will usually find it. :)

It sometimes gets me in trouble, too. :D

I agree music would be better if I had been born a bit earlier. Being born in 1985 means I didn't get unto music until about 98. when I turned into a teenager.

But at the same time I would like to live in the future with hover cars and stuff. :D

Just enjoy what you have, it cannot be changed unless you freeze yourself for a few years.

From what I can tell, cultural bookmarks from the 20's on up to the 80's seemed to be more clear cut. Be it clothes, styling, music or TV. The 90's seemed to be a culmination of all the era's styling and music mish mashed into one with the onset of boy & girl bands and rap artists sampling and re-releasing old tunes as originals.

I think since the 90's the artistic voice of the world has never been more devoid of original thought. Perhaps music may have lost its ability to unite the youth because people with passion for anything other than money and violence have perverted the system at too many levels.

You've got to admit it would have been great to be greeted by pretty women handing out flowers in the street as I'm told was the case in the 70's. :)

Some cultural catalyst will undoubtedly cause an artistic voice of reason to emerge at some point. I’m sure the best is yet to come.

I actually did grow up in the 60s and 70s and I can tell you ........... yup! ya missed all the fun.

Mind you, had you been born into the 50s you'd be old and grumpy like me now, so there are compensations. ;)

born in '75, perfect if you ask me. Enjoyed the 80s and 90s, much amusement to be had in both decades :)
75 here too but sometimes I feel that I wish I was born now. I mean look at the tech we're surrounded by, and imagine what it'll be like in 20yrs time when you hit 20!

I miss the 80's like crazy, it was an awesome era but I'd love to also grow up right now where we are :D
