I foolishly got myself into debt, which i hold my hands up for. I owed money on credit card and then lost my job.. which left me unable to pay bills..

so i went to see CAB etc and got it all sorted..

Then yesterday my mam put £330 into my bank account, id got it from a tax return and it was to give me a new start as i have just started working again, and gonna be able to pay my bills off at a reduced rate until im back on my feet.

Until today when i went to the bank, got 20 out, and i was 220 overdrawn.

As soon as lloyds had seen that i had 330 in my bank account they took £285 from me without warning.

Even though they have recieved a financial statement regarding what i can afford to pay back.

I know i dug this hole, but banks can be ***holes at times.

Managed to speak to them, and they said the money will be put back into my account, but not until tuesday by the time it clears.

So it was a bloody waste of time, they probably just wanted to try it out and see if i said anything.

Never put cash into a bank account when you are in debt, the bank would see it as you are taking the **** and have money. should have just kept it aside at home.

Yup. Look at it from their point of view - you owe them money and say you can't pay it back, but then you put a lump sum in to the account. It probably would have been a good idea to speak to them about your repayments before you processed the cheque. If you've got any more cash but still can't afford the repayments, keep it aside for now.

Yeah well considering they have recieved details from the CAB about my payment plan, it was pretty out of order to take the money without contacting me first.

Anyway, they are gonna put it back in by tuesday sposedly, so all is not lost.

I just dont like their methods at times.

tbh, surprised you got it back. Halifax did the same to me and old me tough when i signed up i gave them the right to tae as mch as they like to cver mney i owe them.

Your best move would be to open a bank account with somebody you don't owe money to.

Might be a hassle at first, but at least you know your money is safe.
