This is the first time I've been properly sick in years. I got sent home from work today at 3pm because I had thrown up a few times and they wouldn't let me stay. Since I've been home I can't even keep down water. I'm absolutely starving atm but too afraid to eat. :( I was looking forward to a few beers while watching the footie tonight but that isn't going to happen.

I'm hoping it ain't going to last until tomorrow, I'm supposed to be having a business lunch with my boss and don't really want to miss it.

No advice required, I just felt like a moan really :p Being ill sucks :(

Sympathy mate. I had real flu a few months ago and it knocked me for six. Lost about half a stone and was stuck in bed for over a week. I don't wish that on anyone! Anyone who calls their heavy cold 'flu' gets an earfull from me now :p

Feel for you man. I got that winter vomiting disease over the New Year when I was staying overnight in a hotel. Had to stay in the hotel an extra night cos I wasn't going anywhere the day I was supposed to check out. Expensive illness :(

Seems to be a bug going around as I have been hit with vomiting as well as a few others I know.

Rest + fluids is the best bet.

I know how you feel, few years ago I was experiancing a similar thing. Just kept throwing up, even if I hadn't eaten anything. Couldn't sleep or anything, horrible :(

The first time i was sick properly was when i was 17, after having a fear all my life of being sick it was really scary lol. Been ill a few more times after that but have always been to battered to care :p

I feel your pain. I've only got a sore throat, feels like I've been eating glass. And I just want to curl up in bed. Work in a few hours though :(

I had it bad last year, instead of being sick i was pooping like a dunkey. I was so weak, cold shivering and not forgetting pooping like a dunkey. It lasted for like 8 days eventually i was pooping green??? Wasnt nice at all at least i had 2 weeks off work though:D

I hate the throwing up part but always feel better for it afterwards, if im gonna throw I prefer to get it overwith rather than have that feeling you get just before you do.

I feel for you, I was off work for all of 8 days with a chest infection earlier this month and went stir crazy cooped up at home. I was actually so glad to get back to work, I can't see how people stay sane with no job.

Get well soon :)

I feel sorry for you, one of my worst fears, well I wouldn't so it's as bad as a fear, but one of my worst illnesses is puking, it's horrible. Don't be harsh and attempt to work when you're so ill though, it's extremely harsh on other people around you.

I feel for you and I hope you get better soon.

I had a bad infection in 2006 which was mis-diagnosed, and it knocked me for six, but once they found the cause of the problem and I was prescribed penicillin
(which done the trick) I rapidly recovered, but I still remember shivering, cold sweats, hot sweats, not being able to eat anything and throwing up.

The strange thing is/was, I am allergic to penicillin (but know one knew that at the time). I was prescribed a weeks course, which I took for the full week and I remember clearly I took the last one on a Thursday night (and felt fine) and woke up Friday morning covered from head to toe in a rash, I was sent from work to the doctors and had my breathing etc checked, but I still felt fine (good even). So now I'm allergic to penicillin - of all the things to be allergic too (which is a real pain in the "behind") -still it could be worse.

pooping bile!

I used to throw up after every meal over the past two years; well, I say throw up but more like regurgitate. I have a condition called achalasia, where the oesphagus doesn't push food down like normal and the muscle between the oesphagus and stomach doesn't open enough. So I don't mind being sick! (I got quite used to it)

However, I had an op in Feb which means I can actually eat again without losing my food. As a consequence, I can no longer vomit! :p
