I hate fan filters!

The SP120s are great. Quiet and push a lot of air through rads, pricey though. Either that or Gentle Typhoon fans

So just how good are the DEMCiflex filters then ?

Also has anyone had any experience of getting some custom ones made - I may be asking them to sell me some of the filter material without any of the magnet fixings to cover all the holes in my impending build -I don't like hoovering !

The filter seems to be great, if you have decent fans :p

There is a noticeable amount of dust on it after just one day.

Cheers acme15 !
I have Noctua fans as quiet is important to me and I guess they are pretty good...
Air flow and heat are not likely to be a problem for me as my build will be pretty basic.

Just picked up a pair of Akasa Venom Vipers for £6, chuffed with that. :)

Awaiting thier arrival.

DEMCiflex filters are great imo. They keep a lot of dust out and I haven't noticed any noticeable increase in temps since using them. They do need cleaning though but this is very easy and certainly a lot easier than cleaning dust out of the case.

Filters? Doesnt everyone just take the vaccum cleaner to their computer every no and again or is that just me? Mine even has a computer cleaning attachment with a brush on it :)

Ahh the good old fashioned way to inject static electricity into your system

::Risky!!::

+1

I always say this to people, this is why I don't use vacuum cleaners on the rad. (unless I take the rad out of the system)

I must be v lucky then, been doing it for 20 years and never noticed anything corrupted or dead after. :)

I used to do it :L then I got told it was a bad idea. I didn't kill anything either, but I just don't like to take the risk :p

I've heard the "vacuum static charge damaging electronics" and think it's a myth. I can find no proof it's ever happened.

I've vacuumed electronics for over 40 years and never had anything not work better afterwards.
Not saying that a static charge couldn't damage something.
Just saying it's probably more likely you will get struck by lightning, suffer a shark bite or go to the moon than having a static charge from a vacuum damage your computer.

The Venom Vipers have not made much difference either... I think it is time to come to terms with the fact that faffing around with fans is achieving nothing, and my radiator is just too skinny :(

Gentle Typhoons have great static pressure. I use them to pull through my filters, and apparently they make great rad fans as well for the same reason. Nice and quiet too.
