My Natwest bank card gave up on me the other day in Asda and broke in two. So, I rang up Natwest who sent me another to my home address (I'm at uni and they won't change my address to up here.) The other option was to wait 3 weeks and pick it up from the Lancaster branch. I had to ask my parents to send it up to me when it arrived which they did on Tuesday of this week. But by Friday there was no sign of it. Went on my online banking and there was a message saying someone had tried to activate my new one. Seemed like someone had taken the card when Mum had sent it up to me and tried to use it even though it was first class recorded.
But testament to Natwest, rang them up explained the situation, and they cancelled the card and are sending another to my home address. Hope I have better luck this time!
