I Hate USB ports.

Yer its not that hard 50% chance of getting it right first time, if it doesn't go in easy you just flip it how lazy are you lot?

We spend our days sitting on a chair, typing on forums, playing with pc's, doing little 'work', answer your question? :p

ps. you crazy fools if you can't figure out usb but can build a pc.

Buy USB extension HUB and put it on top of your tower/desk if you cant be arsed putting it in the back?

I guess you got the same problem with almost every other thing. Must be a hell for you to connect your DVI, RJ45, VGA or power lead in isnt it? :P

Damn what about sound? Since you gotta check not only if its the right whole (speaker/mic etc) but if you have 5.1 it's gotta be the right one on top as well?!

@SBradley - nice tip, never thought of it this way, maybe because I've never had a prob with em. I usually just used " It's either this or that way" hah.

Well... In Thermaltake Element S you can push eSATA into power button hole and USB into reset button hole:

Element T has it slightly better but that USB is still conveniently close to reset button:

BTW, How's this for ethernet cable?

I'm not overly fond of them myself. I've broken about 6 of them in various PC cases over the years by leaving leads in them & then treading on said lead breaking the plastic insert. Why can't they make them more sturdy?
Don't worry... similar small and flimsy connector style is spreading also to monitors through HDMI so you'll be getting lot more connectors to break up.

The lock... :D

I'm pretty sure the side with the USB logo always faces up assuming it's a horizontal socket. Anyone care to prove otherwise? :)

That's true in most cases but I've had some occasions where the cable has had the logo on the wrong side (usually in memory sticks), or the socket has been upside down.

Good news, while digging around for an old ADSL router power pack, I found a 4port USB2 expansion card that must have come with a mobo but I've never used. No more faffing about having to swap out cables for phone/camera/ipod etc \o/

Did have to move my soundcard to fit it though!

I love USB.

On all the PCs I've used, the side with the USB logo always faces UP, or if they're on the mobo, the logo side always faces away from the base.
