What would be a good word for someone (other than Troll) that only ever posts negative , antagonistic or snide comments on forums?

Troll is both overused and often wrongly used and words like antagonistic , misanthrope or bigot feel too broad in definition?
 
Dunno. You should probably just ignore them and go out for a walk instead as the weather's nice.

The practise you're describing is called 'flaming'.

So a 'flamer' would be the most apt word.

The term ‘Troll’ is overused on this forum and incorrectly used in almost all cases. It just seems the standard retort for the flakes who can’t cope with what you say...

The meaning of trolling got so twisted over the last few years to basically mean just harassing people online.

Flamer is an old word. I remember hearing other homosexuals use it to describe more flamboyent gay men. Something like "look at that raging flamer, he rocks that floral shirt"
I dont believe its a derogatory term, but could be wrong
