Depends whether you want a monitor and kb&m and so on with that or not.

In that case, you DO need a new monitor. No point buying something fancy like a 4870 or 4890 if youre gonna be playing at poor resolution like that.

Set apart about £150 for a nice 22" fully HD monitor.

Seriously consider my spec. Its the top of the line AMD processor, a 4890, a 64GB SSD for OS install and a fantastic 790FX mobo. Which has pretty LEDs to boot

Hmmm, I wouldn't want to use that OCZ PSU in my i7 rig thats for sure!!!

Change that out for a Corsair 650w and then your sorted...

Personally I'd go for a Phenom 940 (with you can easily OC) with ddr2 set up... much cheaper and not much difference for gaming...

Im using that card mate and its not bad at all, sure im planning to upgrade at a later date but atleast that way he gets to go I7 and im sure we can all agree if its not I7 its obsolete
