A few months ago, I told you guys that the N66U was the best router on the planet and that you should all get on.

The N66U is still a top notch bit of kit.

but it turns out that my post saying that it was the best router ever was misleading.

The RT-AC66U is now available and is hands down the most advanced router to date.

featuring more capabilities that you could ever need, this is about as mental as it gets.

if you are on one of these fancy fibre connections and want the maximum amount of control over what your network is doing, then this is your first and last port of call.

Stock due tomorrow.

What is the real-world difference between that and my Virgin Media Wireless Superhub?

your Virgin Media Wireless Superhub has been falsely advertised as there is nothing super about it when compared to this ;)

in seriousness though, this offers the advantage of attached storage options, smartphone app control, snr margin alterations as well as media features and things of that Ilk.

the Asus product page has a load of info on it that I cant even fit in our product description

http://www.asus.com/Networks/Wireless_Routers/RTAC66U/#specifications

as you can see, the feature list is rather extensive.

And the next one to come out will then be the best! Etc etc etc ;)

i cant see that happening. this one has been in development since the launch of the n56u.

it was always on the roadmap as being the flagship model but as with all pc hardware, flagship models normally take a little bit longer to launch.

What is the real-world difference between that and my Virgin Media Wireless Superhub?

The SuperHub is dire. It's about as useful as a ginger child with freckles.

I disabled all functionality on my SuperHub the day I got it and started using the Netgear DGND4000

I use the VM Superhub (30mb) with Ethernet, Would i see a difference in speed/Ping if i was to get his?

In their defence, they make really good footstools.

Don't you realise today on the news we are now deeper into recession than ever ?

£194. Too rich.

Who gives a **** about the recession?

Be real; it doesn't affect you unless you keep thinking it's affecting you. Just because we're in a recession doesn't mean that we've all suddenly become poor

If you can't afford to throw £194 on a router during the recession, you weren't before either.
