Hello ladies and gents I'm obviously a Newbie so please be gentle!!


I have an idea to create a home jukebox with a touch screen as the base and an easy UI!!


It's going to be a long winter and I'd thought I'd give myself a project.

I'm thinking essentially it's just a ok spec'd desktop with a decent graphics card and a large Hdd? What's the best way to get the music around I'm thinking apple express? Any alternatives?

Any advice would not go amiss! Any else done something similar?
Please be as detailed as possible; because I want to start sourcing parts.

Is that the Apple home server thing? if not maybe the home server might work if not i think the Gadget Show did something about portable home media using remote controls and speakers in different rooms, i will try and find a link for you :)
 
Other alternatives I have just thought about are having a NAS and the airport express at different points in my home the using the iTunes remote app on my iPhone controling the different speakers (which are connected through the airport express)
