I have a website!

Awesome stuff Nick :)

I've only had a quick look at the site so far and it looks great!

I'll be looking to do the same as you next year so it'll be interesting to hear how you get on in the world of wedding togging :)

Excellent looking site

Im looking to get something like this for myself, just out of interest, was the client login area easy to do? was it part of the wordpress package or did you code it yourself?

P.S i have no knowledge of web design so please forgive me if thats a silly question!

Thanks dude.

It's going really well so far. I'm actually looking forward to a quiet period now over Christmas as I've had a massive back log of work to do.

So far I've done 3 solo weddings and 2 as the second photographer. I have just finished off my second solo wedding (ordered the album last night) and I will be processing my final wedding of the year over the next couple of weeks.

I've been a bit run down recently and it's started to get on top of me, but I've picked myself up and worked through a lot of stuff and I am now more in control of things.

I have 3 weddings confirmed for next year and another 3 or 4 enquiries in the pipeline. I don't really want to do any more than 6-9 next year if possible as I am still working full time and don't want to start hating it from being too busy. Should be fine though. To be honest I'd be happy if I only did the 3 weddings next year, no rush :)

It feels great to have everything set up now though. All of the enquiries and bookings I've had are purely through the website/word of mouth as well, I haven't really actively marketed myself.

I need to quickly improve my photographic ability though as there are a few areas which I am not particularly happy with.

It's part of wordpress, when you create a page you can password protect it. So the 'Client Login' page is just a public page, with links through to private pages, you simply set a password and it automatically puts a login screen in :)

Awesome well keep up the good work mate, i currently have a website i have tried to make look good using Jalbum based on the Galleria galleries but really need something more manageable and professional looking!

Did you say you got your theme from theme forest?

Nick

i see that that business card site is doing a free 50 set of cards on offer all you need to pay for is the service and handling charge but the end product is watermarked. has anyone taken this offer up and how noticable is the watermark?

Thanks dude.

It's all looking very good then, well done :)

The Moo.com cards do look good, they're well liked over on TP forums as well.

I did indeed, it's called Echoes :)

This shows how big the watermark is, it costs £10.99 to remove with this 'free' 50 cards. Usually they do 10 cards and it's about £2.50 to remove the watermark.

Are you viewing on a mobile by any chance? I noticed on the iPhone it seems to mess up the columns a little

Must be an "I" thing cause iPad shows it cheaper as well,

Thanks for that, not really the small well placed water mark I was hoping for then :p

The cards look good though and with the variety of images you can put on them its good to give them out to people who are attending a particular event you are covering e.g one with helen on it if they want portraits or of a wedding photo if they are wanting to hire you for that. Or if they're not fussed just any old card :)

It does seem like columns are messed up on my iPhone. No idea how to fix it though.

Ditch the iphone ;)
