I have Fortress forever, but I isn't on the games list??!!

I have installed FF 2 times, I restarted steam 2 times & FF is not in the games list. I can't add it cause there is no .exe in the bin subfolder in the mod folder. Oh and I have WinXP home with the latest updates. :confused:

Make sure it is installing to the SteamApps\SourceMods folder in your Steam folder.

And you do have HL2/HL2DM in your account right?

Ya I have HL2 DM, it is in Source mods, the is no .exe in the bin folder under fortress forever :confused:

maybe I was lucky & got 2 bad installs in a row.

If you don't have Source SDK Base you will need that. Don't know if this is why it isn't showing up tho.

Theres about 20 people playing that game these days, i'd seriously consider either sticking with tfc or get tf2.

Its correct that there's no .exe file, as it's done through steam it should sort it self out itself.

Do you just have HL2 DM or do you have HL2 as well (or any other source games)? If Fortress forever is installed in the correct place, you've restarted Steam and you have the required games in your account then I'm really not sure what the problem is.

Try downloading the install files from a different source perhaps to see if that makes any difference.

Where do I get it? andshrew I have HL2 demo & DM. Do I need HL2 full?

SourceSDK Base should be under Tools in the main menu, if its not installed you should just be able to right click and click install.

Did you get HL2DM free with one of the Intel/nVidia offers? I don't know for sure that you need HL2 as well as HL2DM to play Fortress Forever but I'd say if you can't see SourceSDK Base as an option as per above then it would look like you do.

That sucks, hmmm. I thought I could get it free, free is better then spending money for basicly the same game. Well is TF2 just a standalone game or do I need HL2 for it to work? Oh sorry ya, I did the nVidia thing.

It would seem then that the nVidia offer doesn't let you play any mods... just confirmed it with an account I activated the offer on and that too doesnt see any of the mods I have installed.

TF2 is standalone, I'm unsure if purchasing that would allow you to play mods like Fortress Forever however the store page for the game states it comes with the Source SDK which to me suggests it would. I'd double check though before purchasing, perhaps try looking on the steam support site or their forums.
