I have had ENOUGH of fans slating Berbatov

That had nothing to do with Berb though

Really? Going from just Rooney up front to an actual partnership made the world of difference. It was obvious from the first minute that we needed that. Regardless of what you say about his workrate, Berbatov is one of the best strikers I've seen at controlling the ball under pressure, holding it up and feeding the players around him.

I hear he's in trouble with the Bulgarian mafia for trying to pork some crime lord's missus.

No wonder he's playing so poorly.

I personally love Berbs when he's playing, purely because he's can bring something different to our attack. I know different isn't always better, but when he's on the ball in the final third, I always think something might happen. Hope and optimism makes for a great footy match :D

Berbatov was an unsung hero ignore and slated by idiot fans. too many fans love players like Tevez because while they run around after the ball constantly they end up on screen constantly. Tevez, and partially Rooney, don't stay where required, they chase the ball(needlessly rarely winning it back but always out of position) and stupid fans see Tevez on the screen more than anyone else and assume he's the only one putting effort in.

Berbatov, in games like the Spurs game last year, which was a huge game after some big losses in terms of turning the team around and pulling away from Liverpool, was absolutely fantastic, setting up every single goal by starting the attack with ridiculously good passing and vision.

He's one of the best players in the prem, and was one of the best players in the prem last year.

His one issue is being played out of position, for the past 80 years a big man has always been the withdrawn striker who'd win the ball and play it onto a smaller faster guy, yet in the past 4 years people insist big players should be lone strikers. Too often he was isolated with his second striker far too deep to get involved. He's better at taking the ball down and playing someone in behind, then running in late into the box unmarked for a good finish.

He's been very good, but he'll only get better when Utd finally give up on Nani and put Rooney back at left wing and start Owen/Berbatov combo for a few games in a row.

He had less shots than at Spurs the year before because with Tevez and Rooney often dropping stupidly deep you have both centre backs focusing on one guy with fullbacks as cover aswell. When you have two strikers who make runs, like Keane/Defoe would, you make space all over, spaces for passing, space for taking the ball down, space to run in and space to shoot.

Why on earth would we want Rooney on left wing? That would leave our 3 established strikers on the field at once, what about subs? injuries?

There's a reason Rooney drops so deep at times, it's sometimes the only time he'll ever see the ball. We've still to see the best from Berbatov but as long as Ferguson keeps tinkering with the first 11 and playing players out of their natural position then we'll not really see what damage both of them can really inflict on teams.

Makes me laugh how Liverpool get stick when we spend £15m+ on a player, yet United spend £31m on a striker whose nowhere near Rooney's ability, and lets face it, he doesn't exactly set the world alight, reign in offensive support or terrify defenses. Also unlike Ronaldo and Rooney, he wont win you games on his own.

So yes its about time everyone starts giving Man United the stick they deserve.

/hands over stick

;)
NO BERBATOV NEVER WINS GAMES ON HIS OWN

Thats why he scored the winning goal in 1 goal margins in FOUR GAMES, while Rooney and Tevez did it in JUST ONE.

He's a pretty good player, but he's not a Man Utd player and never will be, he was better at a smaller club where the team played around him.

Also, worth about £10m, not £30m .. That's why people laugh at him. He's the most overpriced player in the league
YES

ITS HIS FAULT HE WAS BOUGHT FOR 30M

At UTD we prefer strikers who run around after the ball at opposition players for 75% of the game and still manage to win not even half as many tackles as Berbatov and spend most of time out of position. THAT MAKES A GOOD STRIKER

played out of position for his whole first season taking one for the team when we had ronaldo, can only judge him at the end of this season, think he'l come good though

The Arsenal game was a classic example of what United were missing; Carrick and Fletcher having no one to pass to - without Berbatov United have no ball retention at all.

I'm pretty sure United fans were saying he was fine in pre-season and against Wigan he played pretty well.

Berbatov has been good in preseason, looks much sharper and is running about more. But he'll not be getting any sort of form by not being played every week. Enough of this 4-5-1 rubbish please Fergie!

Berbatov is the ideal striker for 4-5-1

No he isn't, none of our strikers suit a 4-5-1 formation as proven by nearly every game we've ever played in 4-5-1 with a lone striker up front. They are isolated and end up dropping deeper to receive the ball defeating the purpose of having someone up front at all.

YES

Berbatov playing 4-5-1 at Leverkusen had more than just Tottenham interested, and the performances he gave whenever Spurs went down to 10 men and played up front on his own, mean he doesnt suit it at all.

What exactly do you want from a striker playing 4-5-1? Would you like someone who runs around in his own half trying to get the ball?

Yeah, that was Fergie's mistake. ManYoo seem to be a bit mixed up atm, their strongest point over the last few years was their ability to counter attack, the team is too slow to do that now
