I have just come across "trans-ablism"

I found it on a fringe web site, so can't cite any newsworthy links I'm afraid. I'm not sure if this really is a thing, so thought I'd drop it in GD as I'm not intelligent enough to put my points across in SC :p
GD threads are higher quality than SC anyway.

My take on this topic is it's just another mental illness spread via the internet. Doctors should treat it with an internet ban.

This was actually part of a storyline in Casualty many years ago:

I suppose if these people change their minds they can contact the ex deputy president of Nigeria, who might traffic some replacement organs into the UK for their consideration.

I knew that Nigerians had a reputation as a potentially dodgy lot, but wow, the ex deputy president trying to do some organ trafficking.... It puts Boris' little gathering into perspective somewhat.

Senior Nigerian politician found guilty of "horrific" illegal organ harvesting plot in U.K.

London — A senior Nigerian politician, along with his wife and another man, were found guilty by a U.K. court Thursday of attempted organ trafficking. Ike Ekweremadu, 60, a former deputy president of Nigeria's senate, his wife Beatrice and Dr. Obinna Obeta were convicted of "exploiting a vulnerable victim for illegal organ harvesting" after bringing a 21-year-old man to the U.K. from Lagos, according to the U.K.'s Crown Prosecution Service.

...and a doctor also presumably from the same heritage being under investigation by the police and the general medical council for facilitating the unlawful procedures on previous occasions.

This was a fetish. They particularly like amputees.

It is insulting to disabled people. It seems like either a mental illness or attention seeking.

I suspect this is a first world problem.

Yep, welcome to the wonderful modern world where anyone can identify as anything. All this is the next step in trans insanity, just like identifying as a different race is also out there on the fringes. Folks that have enabled those that pretend to be a different sex can't say anything as these are the rules they have created, reap what you sow.
