Ok, so i needed a temp car, i bought one.
Volvo 480 Turbo Auto is now my car.
Bought for the pricely sum of 411 pounds!

Its black with red trim and 127k (erk) on it.

I had a look about before buying it, and the 480 seems a highly regarded car, with a decent reliability record.

"EBAY BLURB"

This is a lovely Volvo 480 Turbo Automatic and, it's in the right colour!
It's in very good condition and benefits from a fully working Information Centre (normally they are faulty). Everything else works except the rear wiper (must be a short circuit somewhere cos the motor works if you give it a direct feed) however it has not caused me any problems so I didn't bother fixing it!

Another first is it has the load bay soft cover and all clips present and not broken!

The interior is half leather and jacguard material which really sets the car off.

There are one or two scratches on the body comensurate with age but the body seems quite rust free

The car drives really nicely and the gear change works well and changes smoothly.

There is no reserve, I just need space for my next project.

The car had just been washed in the pictures and with the sun on it it looks concours but as staed above, it does have some minor scratches and blemishes as you'd expect for a vehicle of this age

This is a bargain for a fast appreciating classic car.

It should really be trailered but most people would either take the risk or make arrangements to get it taxed (if the seller still has an insurance policy on the car then maybe get them to tax it on your behalf)

I'd book it in for an MOT at your local garage before you leave the sellers house.

Then you can legally drive it with no tax to the garage to get it MOTd before you go and get the tax disk. I don't think it really matters if you even attend the MOT as long as you are booked in when (and if) you get stopped for having no tax ;)

Why are you buying a car with no tax I though you were on bargain basement as cheep as possible motoring? now you are going to have to spend £90 taxing it!

Cause i liked it :p

Plus, i got it for just over 410, so had 90 quid budget left for tax ;)

IIRC the manual box is a Renault one placed over the back axle,I'm not sure who made the auto box but this may be a ticking bomb if there are any problems,so don't keep it too long :)
Well woth it for the pop up headlights alone

they're front wheel drive but the 1700 turbo engine is something to do with renault

oh and btw, the motors for the popup headlights used to cost £160 each, if they don't work properly you can disconnect the power to the motors and lock them in the up position though.. which is lots cheaper..

i had a 2.0L NA/manual one and i loved it dearly, but it had so many electrical faults with the lights, windows and data centre that i gave it to my brother in the end :)

Im sure i can ghetto in some dodgy el-cheapo motors from the local model shop if required.

Otherwise, stuck up for the win :D

Im really barely going to be using it, perhaps 50 miles a week. So it will be back on the bay at some point in the near future. So im not too bothered about minor problems :)

Bargain motor there. If its like other older Volvo's it shouldn't give you any trouble as a temporary solution.

Really futuristic looking cars when they came out IMO, a bit like the Mk2 MR2.
