I was going to suggest this, but it's a bit late now I guess;).

I actually looked at that, then soent 20 seconds totting up the things i would need to notify my insurance about. RE mods...

Nah, just too much hassle. This one is bog standard and should insure simply enough :)

The car had just been washed in the pictures and with the sun on it it looks concours but as staed above, it does have some minor scratches and blemishes as you'd expect for a vehicle of this age

A concours volvo 480? whatever next.
it does look clean, but to call something concours really is something else! :)

i bet he didnt even clean the door hinges.

other than that looks ok.

The engines tune very nicely in them. Volvo was still going through its safety only phase in the UK and thought that selling the car with its full power potential would be too exciting for the potential owners so drastically cut the power down compared to what was available in Europe. Change of chip does wonders.

I would'nt go too mad modifying a car of such age & mileage, not much use having two knackered cars on the drive is it?

Nurse it along and I'd doubt it'll let you down.

I hope the BM is back on the road soon mate. ;)

I sincerely doubt that it'll need nursing.

Rag the ****ing nuts off it!

*n

Me neither, but, if he rags the ****ing nuts off it, and it goes "pop" he's got something of a problem!

The object of his temp car is to keep him mobile until the BM's fixed I assume, which is why I would treat the Volvo with care.

Once the BM's fixed, rag it to death by all means! ;)

Good news, im collecting the car tonight!!

The car was originally sold to the sellers workmate for his son. He could not get insured on it, and the seller being a mate, took it back. So it ended up being re-listed.

Spoken to the guy, reason he didnt contact me was that he was unwell, he seems nice enough.

I have downloaded the original press release for the car. I am loving the wording on it

"The new volvo 480 turbo has been developed for a young public. Men and women between 25 and 40, generally with a higher than average education and with career ambitions. People with an individual lifestyle who actively participate in sport and recreation in their leisure time, who are sensitive to fashion changes, are interested in culture and like to enjoy the good things in life."

Nice car - IIRC pretty nasty interior though, considering its aimed at people "sensitive to fashion changes" and all :p

"Marketing"
I can't see them saying "We have designed this to appeal to the staple of our customer base - the old fart." :p
