Really dont see what the fuss is all about with FEAR, I bought the PC version and never got around to playing it, so went and bought the 360 version when that was released and although I played it for a couple of weeks I've never really got into it, it was just far to samey for me - walk through empty corridors then into huge open areas for a massive gun fights with multiple enemies and repeat over and over again. I recently gave the PC version a try as I was bored and wanted to see how my new rig dealt with it and if anything I found that one even harder to get into.
Quake 4 on the other hand whilst it doesn't really add anything to the FPS genre like Quake, Quake 2 and Quake 3 Arena did it's just a really fun shooter IMO.
Personally for me its Quake 4 > FEAR
