I work in an office with people who make up to 100,000 a year who speak to high paying customers and you still hear some of them saying 'were it good' but that's more dialect than stupidity maybe

I'd probably let them off as they were polite enough to offer to get me something. However, I hope they are off to Tesco, not Tescos. Don't know why everything has to be plural.

Another truly awful mistake:

People use the word 'why' and then put 'for' at the end.

"Why are you doing that for?"
"Why are you getting angry at my grammar for?"

No, I would say I am going to Jim's house.

I am going to a Tesco's store - I am going to Tesco. But not I am going to Tescos.

No you'd say 'Jim's'

Why? Because you're not actually going to Jim himself, you're going to his house. 'Going to Jim's' is short for 'Going to Jim's house'. ie: going to the place of Jim.

Just like the French 'Chez moi' it means: 'at my house' , yet do you see the word maison anywhere in the phrase?
