I just Completed Mirrors Edge

I actually enjoyed it, but found it quite fustrating as well. Whereas e.g. COD4/5 had annoying levels where people kept shooting me down, I found I got annoyed with bits requiring complex jumps. The construction site where you have to get to the top was the hardest bit in my eyes.

The colours and almost Frank Miller esq style of animation, controls and sound track were really good. I look forward to a second one if they do one.

I got it today and am loving it so far. I know it's going to be short but it's very enjoyable and a great idea. Executed a little better and it would have been a classic. It's let down by a poor story with dull characters, pity because the world is interesting, just needed a better writer.

I agree with you here, the story was a bit hit and miss, the idea behind it was a bit B-Movie eqsue, i.e you are told "these guys are bad, your good" but never the why.

That and the ending confused me, seemed there were a lot of plot points left unfinnished.

Though I did enjoy the story, it could have been better.

I loved it, but they need to make the next one longer and more freeform. Finding your own routes around the rooftops would be better.

I really enjoyed it, and I went off FPS games a while back.

Very few games hold me til completion, and I enjoyed this right the way through.

Good on yer, I lost my rag with it after having to keep repeating the same jumping sequences and staggering wildly wondering where to go. (Yes, I pressed the View Hint button but that was mostly useless.)

I saw that aspect as making it a puzzle/FPS, which was quite fulfilling when I figured out the route.

It's all subjective though, and I can see why many wouldn't like it.

Me and my friend found a special level to the game, to have to get to mission 4 then jump off this building at the very right moment, you land into a black whole type thing then get transported to this tree level where you have to get to the top

My guess is you and your friend were high at the time.

Thought was really good game tbh
Could have been abit longer / more to do on maps but waited ages for a game to come out like this

I enjoyed it thoroughly (for the 360) last year. Because of the originality and artistic intrigue of the product, it kept me interested through all of the tough parts.

Enjoyed the game apart from the shooting. The running and jumping was great fun.

I never though PhysX actually made a real difference until this game.

Great game, absolutely loved it. It is actualy one of the very VERY few games I have ever completed.

Am I the only one that thinks the sound track was awesome?

I just finished it. Most. Dissapointing. Finale. Ever.

surrounded by armed guards on a huge rooftop with endless running jumping flipping capabilities... and the required keystrokes to complete the "finale" are W and Jump. Just run forwards, and jump.

Wowsers.

Really enjoyed this game. For me the most fun came from time trials and speed runs, despite being infuriating they were very addictive.

I enjoyed it. I thought the really over-the-top lighting on some of the indoor sections of the game to be really good. I didn't like the shooting much. Even though I enjoyed the game I'm pretty sure I'd never want to play it again. Don't know why.

As far as games go these days, I thought it was quite original.

Yeah theres a couple of places with really frustrating jumps where if you messed up you had to replay almost a minute of the same thing each time to get back to the jump... and mess up again...

Also a couple of places where the sequence to get to where your going isn't clear at all like the bit I've got too atm where theres a tall room with several stories of scafold and other "under construction" and a few jumps that if you mess up send you right back to the bottom again.

That's pretty much part of parcel of a platform game though, right?
One reason why I've steered clear of this game, I really really can't stand games where you miss a jump and then have to spend ages clawing you way back up again.

Mirror's Edge isn't like that though  It's checkpoint based and that room that is in construction (called Atrium actually) if you fall off and don't die then you'd been climbing for about 10 seconds. If you do die then it respawns you a few jumps back.
