I just got my PC I ordered from here - It exploded.

I ordered this on tuesday -

I recieved it this morning, I unpacked it, plugged it in and swtiched it on. The pSU exploded and there was smoke coming out everywhere! Needless to say, it was useless now. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Upon closer inspection, some parts of the casing felt like it had condensation on it, could this have gotten into the PSU?

I phone p technical, and someone is coming on MONDAY to pick it up, it'll get repaired then sent back. I've waited in anticipation for this PC to arrive, and this happens! I am not pleased:mad::mad:
 
I dont blame Overclockers, I didn't buy from them for nothing. Next time, should I let it sit to warm up in the house before turning it on? Considering condesation WAS the cause.

Yes, you should leave all electrical components alone for a minimum 20 minutes to allow for condensation issues.

Yes, its the same with any electrical equipment ... if it is at a significantly different temperature than the room it is in then you should let it thermally acclimatise to its surroundings.

The PC probably sat in a cold City Link depot or van overnight and when it was placed in a warm room you would get condensation on the cold parts. Condensation and electricity don't mix as you unfortunately found out :(. The condensation should evaporate off if you leave it to come up to the temperature of its surroundings.

edit: personally I'd leave it for a few hours at least ... might seem a long time but its quicker than a RMA if it blows up. If it's still damp and cold after that time then leave it longer still.

Get a refund and build a new unit yourself for cheaper, that's a complete rip off anyway IMHO, see the explosion as a blessing.

All of us lot can help you build up a new PC it really is not hard :)

But Good luck if you go for a replacement.
