I just got my Galaxy S the other day, and have taken the time to get used to swype, its amazingly quick and accurate, saves me a bundle of time and is quite fun to actually use :)

What do the great people of overclockers think?

Yes, it is very good to use. Can't decide if it's quicker than a standard keyboard.

Definitely is good for one finger texting whilst on the move.

+ always a good crowd pleaser! ;)

One handed texting is all I've ever done, so great for that yeah. By standard keyboard I assume you mean when the phone is on its side and you use two fingers, because no its definitely not quicker than touch typing on a standard keyboard

Long press text input box :p

I type faster with normal HTC_IME keyboard compared to using Swype.

Now that I have got used to using Swype on my X10 in portrait it is seeeeriously quick compared to both portrait single thumb and landscape two thumb typing!

Swype is no good in landscape though as the keys are too far apart, however with the speed of it in portrait there is hardly any need to type in landscape mode anymore.

I really like it, although I've yet to write anything bigger than a text message with it and it is pretty rubbish in landscape mode.

I imagine SwiftKey would be better for longer text inputs.

Still cannot fathom giving up a physical keyboard, even with things like this. I can text on them but I can't imagine ever being able to touch type on them like I can with my milestone. Milestone 2 please :D

First time I tried Swype I hated it. I decided to stick with it and I'm so glad I did, I love it now.

When I first got the Galaxy I thought Swype was great, but now I find it hard to use as I keep on making mistakes with it! I'm an ex blackberry user so I do have high standards though...

Any other keyboards anyone can recommend?

Yeah, just google the swype apk on google.

Install, enable in language and keyboard settings, long press on text field - input device, select swype

:)

I think posts on how to pirate paid apps need to be removed. Swype is not intended to be a free app, other than on phones it is bundled with (because the manufacturer have paid).
