For a long time i was loving Safari, but after trying Firefox RC2 i think im going to switch over.

Anyone else made the jump from Safari?

One thing i find myself doing is using Safari to hold all my bookmarks, then importing them to Firefox. I did the same thing when i was a pc user. Saved faves in IE then imported. Is there a better way of doing it? Id love some sort of online bookmark storage, any suggestions?

Yeh I have switched, always use Firefox on windows but it was not very good on mac. But now with the new RC1 its so much better than safari, although I use a safari theme as the normal Firefox one is not very nice at all :).

I switched, but I may go back again :o

Safari is like lightning for me anyway..

Is there any way to have all my bookmarks online, so I can access them from any browser?

If you use Foxmarks, I think you can login and browse your profile. Else exporting your bookmarks and hosting them yourself would be another option.

Using Foxmarks now, really nice app. Im also loving TwitterFox, its as good if not better than most OSX twitter apps ive used.

Hmm I went from Firefox to Safari.

I don't use any particular additional functionality other than just browsing and google. So I've no real need for another browser and safari seems quick.

I actually made the switch today, always been a Firefox user on my PC but hadn't had a problem with Safari on my MBP until I upgraded to 10.5.3 - now It's forever loading half the page needing a refresh to load the rest

Was using FF 2.0 but have just this second ditched it for 3.0, looks a little dodgy using stock settings but I'm sure with a little bit of playing about I'll make it look nicer.

I have really tried to get to grips with firefox but alas it just loads up too bloody damn slow for me on first boot. If I select Safari, it loads up at the click of a finger, with Firefox it takes ages to load in.

Anyone have this problem too? I guess I am an impatient sod.

I generally use Safari, it's a lot quicker (in load times) and some of its integration with other things is nice.

Before getting a Mac almost 2 years ago now (wow!) I was a pure Firefox user on Windows from very early on. Although that allowed you to see the sheer drop in performance once it got higher into 1.x.x.

I have Firefox 3 RC2 and it's incredibly good, but I think i'm going to stick with Safari just because it's simple and does what I need :)

I thought it was just me. That's the only problem i have with it.

Yeah I've found that it's not as quick loading up for the first time as Safari as well, however it aint that big a deal for me

I do actually have a question kinda in relation to this topic, since I've using Firefox (and removed Safari from the dock) now everytime my MBP boots up Safari starts! Still being somewhat of a Mac noob I have no idea where you select what applications start on startup or whether it's a different setting buried away somewhere. Anyone got any ideas?

Look in System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items

Hope that helps.

you could use del.icio.us and the browser plugin. Personally, I use ma.gnolia and the social bookmarks plugin for quicksilver so I can get them from anywhere.

just been playing with new firefox 3 versions... anyone else notice the fonts are a bit funny looking on these forums for example? In osx preferences I have font-smoothing set to medium (for flat panel). All settings within firefox are as they were by default. Some sites including this forum appear to have bigger/bolder fonts instead of the usual finer fonts that safari/camino/opera show. All settings are default in all my browsers. The only settings changed are the ones I mentioned about osx preferences. Apart from this I really like the new FF a lot but at the end of the day a browser is a browser.
