So my computer died a few days ago (just windows) so I decided to upgrade to a SSD as I don't want to wipe the drive to start again and don't have time to mess around moving files to other computers etc etc.
Only have SATA2 so picked up a PCIe card. I was in a rush and it never occurred to me that I was out of date here too.
I have
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (single at x16)
1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (@x4 mode, 2.5GT/s)
2 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 (2.5GT/s)
3 x PCI
My motherboard

SSD
Samsung PM951 256GB M.2 PCI-e 3.0 x 4 NVMe Solid State Drive
My question is will the SSD work in that board, even at a slower speed?
If not will it work in this? My sons PC. If so I will keep it for him.

If not I guess I need to return it and think again.
I keep going to upgrade then put it off over and over. Would still like to avoid it as I don't use my PC that much these days. That said I may have to consider a cheap replacement for my i5 750.
Thanks..
