I've been sat here listening to music for the past hour or so just blankly staring at my steam games list....

I seem to be stuck in a rut of hating every game i play, battlefield bad company 2 gets me frustrated easily and i get bored quickly, L4D2 i find i can't enjoy unless im playing insanity games with you OcUK lot, there just seems to be no enjoyment left in games for me..

This is a brief list of games on my steam list:
Battlefield: bad company 2 - Bored of it and easily frustrated by it
Braid - Enjoyed it, completed it too quickly
COD games - Same as battlefield and the MW1+2 games are just crap
Command and conquer 3 - I wish C&C4 was a build bases game, i need something new like this
Counterstrike source - Quit playing it due to what i could only call an addiction
Crysis - Crap
Dragon age - Completed it, got bored by about half way through and started rushing through it
Fallout 3 - Stupid as it sounds i can't play it, im too jumpy when i comes to games with things jumping out at you and running at you etc
GTA IV - Completed it, now bored of it, feel i wouldn't enjoy the new one either
Half life games - Where the hell is Episode 3?
L4D1 + 2 - As per earlier statement
Machinarium - LOVED IT but completed it, need more games like this!
Prototype - that was fun for 5 minutes
Team fortress 2 - hate it

So that's the main games in my list, i need more games like machinarium, can anyone recomend any? but as well as those i need something new, something that isn't an FPS, isn't a dragged out RPG that i'll get bored of after a few days, i don't even know how to explain what i want :(

AGGH gaming has gone stale, im tempted to get the N64 out and play through mario 64 and zelda again, braid felt a bit like a combo of mario + machinarium which was fun but too short, please please please recommend me some games?

I've always wanted to get into an MMO but they are all so unrewarding at the start, i think i nearly got into star wars galaxies once but i never managed to properly get into it, is there anything a bit like planetside around at the moment?i remember quite enjoying that

Just Cause 2 for the win.

Looks a lot like prototype style gameplay, makes me wonder if im going to quickly lose interest like i did with prototype, main problem with single player games is i get bored of AI and want to go back to multiplayer again :(

What about racing games?

The codemasters pack is 75% off atm on steam

Well GRID is the only racing game i think ive ever enjoyed and got quite into, i've played dirt2 on the xbox 360 and didn't like it so having dirt 1 is probably pointless, i don't know anything about the other 2, what are they like in comparison to GRID?

I've played through company of heroes, liked it but again it's one of those ones i'd say i would get too bored of quickly now, played through batman on the xbox, absolute 100% no on the dead space one :p ever see mack n mesh? im a bit like him with scary games :D

The Whispered World

Point and Click Adventure game.

Been looking forward to this for a while.

That actually looks really good! certainly something different, just hope the story is good enough to keep it playing

What do you hate about TF2?

I'm not sure what it is i hate, i just get bored really quickly

Have you tried the Civilization games? The complete versions of both Civ III and IV are available on Steam.

Hmm i have Civ IV, i might install it again and have a play, but if i remember rightly i lost interest quite quickly last time

i dunno if its my age of getting slightly older, but games dont seem to keep me drawn in like they used too.
.

I do wonder if it's just a case of getting older and things arent gripping me anymore, I remember many years ago sitting infront of the TV with final fantasy 7 or 9 and playing it straight through from waking up to going to sleep, hell i could do the same thing with zelda and various donkey kong games, now though none of them really suck me in and have me wanting to play more, instead after a while i start to think "im bored now, ill go do something else"

Or it could just be gaming overload. Perhaps take a break from gaming for a while and see what happens.

Definately not that :D in the past month the only games i've played is l4d2 and CSS (and css was only about 2 horus worth to help out the team i left when i quit playing it)

Myst was a fantastic game, loved it but sadly completed it, i couldn't get into riven but i never actually got round to trying myst 3 exile come to think of it...

At the moment im very glad i bought the codemasters racing pack, loving playing through GRID again, forgot how much i enjoyed that game (which is very surprising as i don't generally enjoy racing games of any kind...except mario kart)

Still though, once that loses it's appeal im going to be stuck again, beat hazards good when im bored for just having a quick blast on, same as audiosurf, but certainly neither are long term games and only pass a few minutes...

I guess i won't have to worry much longer, about 9 weeks and i won't get to play computer games anyway as i'll have a baby to take care of :p
