I need a new MMO to play.

i dont have much time to game as much as i used to but would like to get into a mmo, i had high hopes for FFXIV but that was just one big let down. Think i may pick up SWOR or Guild Wars 2

it might be an oldie, but it's a goodie. Try City of Heroes. Well worth it. Plays very different to many MMO's, looks and feels great with good graphics as it's just had a graphics engine overhaul. Loads to do, loads of power choices etc and even 'super sidekicking' which means low levels characters can play with higher level characters with only a slight disadvantage.

You're better off ignoring mmorpg.com when looking for something to play as they over criticise and moan about almost every game that gets released.

That's not really a fair comment, there are some overly critical folks on there, but on the whole it isn't staff.

OP - having played all those games and still feeling you haven't found one you really like long term why not try something new? Single player RPGs and socialising, I don't know about you but I feel like I wasted years of my life playing MMOs! :p

I'm currently playing eve and enjoying it as it suits my current casual playstyle, though if I had the time to sink a few hours a night then I'd be playing Darkfall, really well made game but it's a grindathon at the moment.

I used to enjoy Shaiya [aeriagames.com] as it was a very PvP oriented game. Only problem with it is the servers are quite crowded, so getting some of the best gear can be an absolute ballache unless you were in a top guild.

However, lower-level PvP zones are fun and don't require much grinding to get half-decent stuff.

Played that game for far too long! :p

ive only played wow really, tried others but they kind of flopped. (aion amd warhammer.)
how does eve compare to wow? ive also heard about everquest 2 but the thing that puts me off is the free to play thing, is it just a glorified demo?

Alloids is very good and so is Runes of Magic.
Alloids get frustrating after your essence runs out, it makes you twice as strong and mobs take an age to kill without it. You can pay ££'s for it though. It was still a lot of fun for 30 days - more fun than i had with Rift or when i tried going back for the free EQ2 - that was dire compaired to the good old days. Staring in Qeynos is a must really and you cant on the free version.
Runes of Magic has the possibility to keep you going for quite a long time, very much like a free wow.

But ive played them all and done my bit. Im playing Guild Wars (EotN) and Baldurs Gate till GW2 is released. Will probably get the Witcher 2 and Diablo 3 before GW2 though. Definatally skipping DA2.

Why do you only play MMOs with fees? Ever tried any of the fee less ones?

Try out Lotro, DDO and Guildwars.

i dont, i only mentioned the ones ive tried from launch etc.
ive played lotro and go on there occasinally but im always open to others, ive heard good things about EVE but thats about it.

ive been told champions online and EQ2 are very stripped down now theyre free and feel like unfinished games - is that true?
