As title people...

i need a pair of fans with high static pressure to use with my black ice gt extreme 240 rad.

so i want the highest static pressure with the lowest dba availible

thanks in advance

I had dump Delta because I cannot cope with that 4000RPM as it sound like an aircraft boeing engine ready to take off. But, it pretty good as it put my 4.2GHz temp down to amazing 67C.

I got a new 2 x Akasa AK-FN057 Apache Super Silent 120mm Fan as a push-pull as it much quieter than Delta as temperature isn't bad at 82C on the 4.2GHz.

What are these like, any news on the spec's

Akasa AK-FN057 Apache Super Silent 120mm Fan

The manufacturer's spec makes them the best cfm/air pressure per dBa that money can buy.

However, I have yet to see a review to back up the manufacturer's claim.....

I would definately go for 38mm thick fans. They're all i use and it makes the amount of air pushed out by 25mm thick fans look pathetic. The best i've used are Panaflo's but good luck finding them for sale anywhere now! There's also the Scythe Ultra Kaze and the new Yate Loon 38mm fans, as mentioned further up. Couple them with a fan controller if you find them too loud and you're onto a winner.

Well my two Deltas have just arrived.. They will cover the first two/three ram slots, so I think I'll have to mount it with an offset of about 20mm.. Does anyone know if this is a bad idea in push pull? Is it likely to rip the heatsink off the board? lol

San Ace are the dog's doo daas as far as 38mm fans with high air pressure goes. Unfortunately they are as rare as hen's teeth and now expensive (£14 but you used to be able to buy them for a fiver)

I think someone's proud of his San Ace fans :)

How well do 38mm fans compare to 25mm in terms of undervolting and trying to run them quietly?

Right.. Well I've got one fan on pull at the moment and I'm topping out at 66*C 3927Mhz 1.30625VCore 1.315QPI.. Gonna attach the other now :) You'll have to shout if you're replying to this as I can't hear you!!!!

-- EDIT --

Setting them up in Push-Pull is pretty pointless.. I've lost 1-2*C at load (hovering between 64*C and 65*C) and idle temps are pretty much the same. (34-39*C)

To be honest, once you have really high pressure and high cfm fans, the gain from push pull is little.

There is probably much more to be gained from using a shroud though.
