So I went to look at some 911’s today and noticed that the Aston Martin V8 Vantage was only 5 to 8 k more then I had planned to spend on the 911. OK it was a gray import but I was gobsmacked by how good the car looks.

I assume they cost a small fortune to run? Are AM's reliable? Its Soooo tempting but sadly only just out of reach due to running expenses.

Oh and I did not manage to find a nice 911 yet but the hunt goes on.

I'm sorry but said Aston will have men, women and children alike, pelvic thrusting in the street.

People will let you out of junctions if you're in an Aston.
People will drive past you, doing the 'nescafe wave' if you're in a 911.

I would drive past either. They obviously have plently of money, and time is money, so they can afford to wait. :p

Only because they seem to be dam cheap for non EU gray imports. I Could never afford one at normal uk prices which leads me to believe I can’t afford to run it.

Why don't you post your entire personal accounts? We'll then be able to tell you whether nor not you can afford it.

We need details of your monthly income, monthly outgoings as well as comprehensive details of your assets and savings.

I'm happy enough to give him the OMG LOL U R SO RICH INNIT kudos on the basis of his mere consideration of an Aston Scuzi, and so should you!

Clearly nobody clever enough to earn the cash he does as a student would be daft enough to think real world Aston Martin ownership information would be forthcoming from the OcUK forums ;)

Well my original post was only really Tongue-in-cheek.

This is what i budget for monthly car running costs in GBP

Insurance 130 to 150
Petrol 120 (only do city driving and I use a renault kangoo for a lot of it)
Road tax 3 (lol)
Company car tax 10
Service and repair 1500 to 2000 per year
Tyres 700 per year
Depreciation 0 (Never lost money on a car through carful buying)

Somehow I don’t think a AM would fit in that

You bought a brand new 335i and you dont think you'll lose a penny through depreciation?

Yep.

I drove my MG for a 1 year and sold it for what I bought it for, drove me TT for 2 years and did the same again.

If I manage to sell the BM soon I should make around 6k profit on it, because I got such a good deal in the first place and because Czech car prices are just stupid which I avoid by importing my cars.

For exmaple there are a lot of used 335i's up for sale here at 48k:eek: (pounds)

I bought my one as a ex-demo with 3000 km on the clock and save around 23 000 euro of the german list price
