'I need a turbo'

I'd have a cossie..

a truly mint rs500/escort cosworth if I had a garage to keep it in 90% of the time.

Just because a car is appropriated by the chaving classes doesn't stop it being a classic.

Anything with Vtech should tell you that, the number of civic type Rs and preludes that go belting past my house with massive choons on tell me that they have fallen into the hands of children.

Man, my car is already there and it will only get 100X worse every year.. Focus ST = Future chav chariot :D

Embarrasing thing is, this looks like it was filmed close to me... Weston Super Mare if I'm not mistaken. I know a few people who chav up their cars and drive out there.
Avoid the place!

Cav redtops and Clio 16v'ers seem to be the fav's from what I've heard.

sapphire yeah, but 3 door?

if its an RS500

its a proper classic. In fact the 3 doors full stop have the potential to be much rarer. Just make sure its not a maxed XR4i and you're laughing.

Sapphires were produced in such numbers that they typically end up in chav hands, but i don't think any of the 3 door's have that image at all.
and i'm surprised anyone in here thinks they do to be honest.

Dont usually take time to count doors, I always thought a 'cossie' (sierra wise) was, well, a 'cossie'. Can appreciate the more rare versions, just never really been interested in the particular car. All I know is they all smell the same after booting off :p

I'd have an RS500 in White or Moonstone Blue - The rare ones!!

Edit: Beaten by The_Dark_Side, I'll shut up. :o

i wonder how many of them are left.
more than a few must've been written off by now surely?

Not many at all sadly.

1, Top "twocing" Motor of the 90's - RS500's were not immune alas - infact, they were more at risk due to the rarity & silly inflated prices of that time.
I recall seeing an RS500 for £36k in the Sunday Times classified ads!

2, Quite a few ended up in the barriers in the various Touring car events around the globe (Thats a lot of events and a lot of accidents!)

Sadly those two points add upto the chances of finding a decent RS500 very rare indeed.

Some race spec RS500's were actually re-trimmed as road cars!

Have you got the "The RS Fords" By jeremey Walton? - An excellent read with all you ever wanted to know about the RS500's and any other RS for that matter (Think he's just done an uptodate revision iirc)
