I need a white subwoofer

I didn't give room size etc as I felt it wasn't important considering I have an entry level equipment just better than the standard 2.1 sets aimed at pc users. I appreciate all the posts regardless, it's always good to learn new things and something to consider if I were to ever throw more money at a setup for living room etc.

Room size and expected volume is essential as can work out what you would need. If you have a 85m3 room and listen at reference a 10" sealed box won't be capable enough.

Essential for enthusiasts yes, I am clearly not one.

Give up, audiophiles are worse than Jehovah Whiteness  my ~15 year old Logitech 2.1 speakers sound great to me in the spare room, the odd time I get to crank it up. Wife and kids, neighbors, the dog, they all conspire to ruin loud fun

I get it, people are passionate about their interests but it's important to recognise your audience :) TBH, I pretty much upgraded just because I am going for a white theme and I thought they looked cool.

The Gemini II is good for music, lacking for HT. the XLS200 is much better for HT but it is more expensive.

Also, i think the p10-150-gem look better than the gemini II and has auto-on. crap name though.

Hornetstinger doing a quality job of being the snobby av enthusiast type of person I mentioned in my first post. Haha

You defo should buy two of these

Haha, nah I've got a long list of things I'd buy before blowing £3k+ on subs. I'm sure they're great, I've got a mate with a ~£10k AV setup and it sounds immense, the subs will shake the room without significant perceivable sound - it's cool. But I'd need a lot more time and interest in watching movies, plus TV and other speaker upgrades plus a bigger house to even remotely begin to take advantage of significantly better subs than I have. All in all I'd probably upgrade my front and and rear speakers first... they're only cost £140 new ;) Plus steady yourself, I've not even got a centre speaker.... :D

Yeah it depends on how much you're into this hobby, income, outgoings, responsibles, loans/mortgages etc.

I have a wharfedale diamond sw-150. It's not bad for the price and what I use it for but it is simply not good enough for a medium sized room and moderate volume (for movies)

I'd say a good high quality sub, in long term will be better option than a low end sub then regretting it later, or then getting duals of the same one then it's still not going as the single better sub.

I'd say in normal UK living room bk xls400, bk monolith or monolith+ or monoprice 10" would the ideal sub choice, rather than sw-150/Gemini.

I can confirm that even a £750 sun is too much for literally any normal user. The SVS I got years ago is powerful enough to break every single window in the house.

And I can confirm going to sub that is above yours to another that is even higher than that , is worth it and I bought more than one.

It's all about room size, dB output, and how much ultra low bass and room pressuration you want.

Svs are no longer internet direct subwoofers so unfortunately the prices aren't so great

I have a BK XLS400DF, it's my only sub, use it for movies, music etc. The Germini in a small to medium size room is fine. Really, don't think too deep about it. It's easy to fall into the rabbit hole and apply £30k HiFi logic to a £250 sub. Don't need to do that.

Get the Gemini, plug it in, play with the knobs until it sounds best to you. Move it around the room if you had to. Get an Anti-mode is you had to.

Ah yeah my PB2000 used to be about £739. Came in a washing machine sized box and a pallet lol. I Room is 7 meters by 12 meters and it can do absolutely terrifying things to your guts if you turn it up too much.

That's a very big room I'd get another. If you give total dimensions I can work out master volume olume playback sub is capable of
