I'm after a bit of help. I need to monitor access to a driveway that is ~100m away. I'd like something that can be unobtrusive and is weatherproof.
It needs to be wireless, and I'm not really after a cctv system (it needs to be cheap), more something that goes 'bing' if a laser tripwire is broken.

Are there any suggestions for me to look into? I can't for the life of me think of what to start looking for :o

Many thanks :)

The thing is I need to know as soon as someone goes down the drive. I'm not always near a pc or laptop, so the cctv option won't work for me - cheers though :)

But a camera would surely be better to save you running up there when the local tabby cat decides to wander past.

Will it have access to mains electricity or run off a battery

1 x Opal RFX Wireless External PIR (150 metre wireless range, 30 metre detection)

1 x Opal RFX-3 Receiver (can take up to three PIRs)

Then you need to used the relay outputs from the RFX-3 to fire a buzzer of some form.

Cheers for the ideas so far :)

Difficult to get electric to the site (~100m away, and we live in the countryside) and a dog is not practical!!

The driveway alarm and the Opal stuff is great - I'll do some more research - cheers guys :)
