I'm trying to get a cooler for my m-itx system that will fit into the really small space.
Currently I have an Akasa: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-054-AK
The problem with that is it's at full whack all the time, no PWM support, and the only PWM friendly cooler I can figure out that fits is the low profile stock cooler for the E8400.
I only have about 40mm(ish) clearance and the AC Freezer 7 won't fit due to the NB heatsink.

My question is; Is there anywhere you can get Intel coolers on their own? I know I can't get a direct answer, due to the competitor rules on here, but if I'm on a wild goose chase, then it'd be handy to know!

I've advertised on the MM Wanted section, so if anyone has one they don't need, please reply via this link - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18049050

Ta! :)

40 ish? Can you measure it exactly? The Thermolab Nano Silencer TLI-U is tiny. I don't think there are many places you can get stock coolers, most people go away from that direction. But from people who've bought retail one's and not used the stock cooler but have kept it... you did the right thing in going to the MM.

It's tricky to measure exactly, as the optical drive is in a sort of casing above the cooler, which I have to take off for access.
I think the Thermolab Nano Silencer would fit if I had a slimline DVD drive, but I couldn't actually find anywhere that sold them.
You were right about the MM anyway, it looks like I've got one of those Intel coolers from another user already :)

I have an Intel standard cooler you could have used....but I can't view the MM threads. Not enough posts.:(

+1. I've got one for a dual core and one for a quad core that I'd give you a choice of, that you could have for free but I don't have enough posts to see the MM.

All sorted now, thanks anyway guys.
The rules don't allow for any buying or selling on these forums outside of the MM, so I couldn't really do it any other way.
