I need an operation to remove a tumour

I'm really sorry that you find yourself in that situation. However, you could not find a finer surgeon than Professor Thomas, he is up there with the best in the world.
The Royal Marsden people are a fantastic bunch and are particularly good with information and support.

I keep hearing this, it is really helping me knowing that he is so well thought of in the world of surgery.

blimey, puts what ever pathetic little problems i might be wrestling with into a whole new perspective.

i wouldn't worry about the op, all operations carry a risk, hell, even having a tooth pulled carries a certain level of risk. and by the sound of it you've got one of the top surgeons going handling your case so i'm sure you'll be fine. chin up feller & stay positive. very best wishes to you & your family.

Surgeons like Professor Thomas take on the most challenging and difficult operations.

Hope it all goes ok, look at it that theres a 95% chance it wont go wrong, and keep telling yourself that until you are out the other side.

Best wishes :)

Flip it to the positive as others have said.

95% chance of going well - don't dwell on the negative, though I can feel for you feeling scared and anxious about it. Cancer has this ability to destroy the strongest of people whether it be physically or mentally strong.

Keep us posted and try not to let it get to you (easier said than done I know.). :)
