I need help please

ok, now the fan should be spinning it its getting power and that shouldnt be a mobo issue, I think.

You are putting the extra power cables into it, and you are making sure those cables are plugged in CORRECTLY into the psu? With my corsairhx I need to use certain ports, these are coloured blue. They can also be a ^%^ to get in right.

Also if that doesnt work, does the fan on the 480 not spin up also?

the gtx 480 does spin. I think i am putting the cables into the right area. the AX850 is not colour coded like the HX series, its all black.

I will try again :)

Without a speaker connected to the moptherboard this is going to be hard because im betting that its trying to send you a beep code to indicate whats wrong but without the speaker we have no way of knowing what that is!

Try removing all but one stick of ram and any additional sound cards, tv cards etc until you have just one stick of ram, the cpu and cooler and the graphics card - even disconnect the drives and just see if you can get to the bios screen at least.

Good luck, final thought would be to post a couple of pics of the whole inside side view just in case its something obvious. As andy says, if you can you really want to give the mobo a chance to beep at you, but its not one of the cheaper ones, so maybe it has a beeping speaker built in?

The only time I had a new build black screen me whilst spinning the fans, not posting and without beeping at me was when I had somehow managed to bend a few pins in the 775 cpu socket (I still don't know how the hell that happened) - Straightened them out carefully, replaced the cpu and all was fine.

I hope you can all see the photos ok, first using imageshack. Please bear in mind i only have the 24 pin, 8 pin and pci-e power cables attached to the psu.

cool i will check that out in a min.

Hope you have a decent magnifying glass and decent lighting cos those pins are tiny litte ba##rds

Did you try removing all but one stick of ram and unplugging the hard disk and dvd drives just to see if you could at least get to the bios? Wouldn't want you to strip that monster cooler off to check the pins in the cpu socket unless you had eliminated the easy to do bits first!

ok i think i know what is wrong only that i dunno how to fix this. The dram led light is a solid red. Is that supposed to be like that?

Check the manual mate. Red led's usually aint good news, after doing that if it means that is an error, start it with a single stick, if it doesnt work, try another.
Cant see much wrong from the photos.

i think i have tried pretty much everything, i have tried the memory in single slots, i have even pressed Memok, but it still wont post and the dram led still stays on. When i press Memok it doesnt even blink.

Is the motherboard dead?

Try holding that Mem OK button down for thirty seconds - apparently its supposed to auto calibrate the ram.

Failing that it sounds like a dead board - Google implies that doa P6x58d-e's are not uncommon

ok i will give that a try. Would it help if i was able at all to find a motherboard speaker in my town? that is if any of the shops sell one.

That is shame if the motherboard is to be dead, i really wanted to play games this weekend :(

How long does the rma process normally take?

Many thanks to Andy and everyone else who have helped me :)

I had the exact same problem with my Setup (seems the same) in sig a month ago when i bought it.

Powered on, DRAM light on. nothing on the monitor or post.

tried everything you did then found out i hadn't put the ATX power cable in... Rookie mistake, i was tired haha.

Suggestion would be to double check all the power cables.

*sorry if you've already done this, just skimmed through before i head to bed :)

unfortunately i did not see a speaker connector. there was the asus q connector and the other connector for front usb.

I even changed the 8 pin cable to another i just hope it is all plugged into the right places.
