I need some serious help on Oblivion. Is my character ruined?

Yea theres a number of caves that hold a load of soul gems, cant think which ones off the top of my head tho. Being a vampire sucks to be fair aint worth the extra strength n the cure quest is a mission!

Level 5 lock picks >.<

With a lock pick skill of one you can still pick the highest level locks, as the mini game is purely down to your own skill.

The security stat, just affects how many pins drop back when you break a pick, and how successful auto attempt is.

You get touched by another vampire. There are several quests where you have to kill a group of them. As mentioned above, you will be told on screen when you contract the disease so can then use potions to remove it. Best thing to do is hot foot it to a cathedral and pray at the Altar of the Nine so your inflictions are removed.

P.S. My tip if you're going to be an archer - have a good illusion skill so you can use command creature/humanoid, demoralize/calm.

I'm definitely stocking up on cure disease potions then. I think I already have 3 of them. I spent 6 hours doing this quest trying to work out where to get the ingrediants from, trying to find save places to wait, moving only at night, and trying to find people to feed on while they white. Funnily enough the witch making me the cure keeps her door open and makes a tasty meal.

And also, is it wise to pick random flowers and mushrooms? I sometimes just wonder around the world picking random flowers that look pretty. Quite gay but I find it fun :p Although I can't help think to myself that I might be wasting my time?

Once you've cure the disease (Polyphoric heamophilia IIRC) you can contract it again, but the 'symptoms' don't develop :p

It's only worth picking flowers, herbs and mushrooms if you're using the alchemy skill. Many a tight scrape has been fixed by throwing a potion together at the right moment :)

Alchemy isn't much fun until you get to a higher skill. You have to spend your time making lots of little restore fatigue potions to start getting anything decent. I've never got to expert (75+) due to boredom! I'm not sure why anyone would faff about with alchemy when you have spells that do the same things? I suppose the only advantage would be making poisons for your weapons?

One last question. I just wet to Bruma I think the town is called, and suddenly got arrested for no reason at all. Anyways I didn't have the 1000 gold bounty so all my stuff got taken and I went to jail. I decided to do my time and sleep through it. Once I had done my time I got my items back, but a load of my stats are no -1?? Is this permanent?

Your stats shouldn't have decreased, but some of your skills will have. They're easy peasy to get back up ;)

If you commit a crime, i.e seen stealing something, guards from all towns will be after you for arrest so you need to be careful what you do, basically dont let anyone see you do anything illegal. Fame and Infamy you also want to keep an eye on as people wont want to speak to you if your infamy is higher than your fame. Fame can be increased via quests, thieves guild quests increase your infamy.

Making lots of gold :D

I easily got to Master on alchemy and sold all the restore fatigue/intelligence etc potions, which in turn raised my Mercantile rating (sell each potion idividually as selling 10 items gives the same skill increase as selling 1)
