My cpu is intel dual core e2200 2.2

Oblivion says it requires a cpu of p4 3 gig or equiliant?

Is my cpu not fast enough for oblivion?

The cpu runs at 2.2ghz, as it does more instructions per clock cycle than the old P4 if both are running at stock speeds.

The E2200 may be equivalent to 5ghz +++ P4, also your cpu is dual core.

Does Oblivion use both cores?

Asking for a P4 on the box, it's unlikely, but with a dual core you obviously still get a large bonus by letting one core handle the game while the other deals with all the other things. To the extent that you could be encoding a video at the same time as playing a game and not notice a drop in performance.

Yea i am going to overclock it mate once my replacement board arrives and my new artic cooler 7 pro arrives.

I had a lot trouble with oblivion stuttering randomly i heard its down to micro suttering and it has something to do with the games engine?

A guy posted a program in the game section to help with it so shall give it a go, im disapointed with bethesda their games just seem to have problem after problem.

I was running it on an 8800gt 512mb oc at 1600x1200 maxed out.

But i lowered everything to lowest at 1024x768 and the stutters were bang on same place all time i would look at certain objects and walk towards then it would shoot from 60 to 52 and stutter still.

My card is faulty and is being returned and is being replaced by 4850 is seems not if i can get a cheap 4870 in the B grade later this month.

strange i run it @ 1680x1050 on a 8800GTS 320Mb and dont get any stutter thats with eveything maxed out except aa
i would definetly say there is something wrong with your vid card

Well in the games section loads people had this issue and was 2 pages on it semes i am not the only one apprently its called micro stutter.

Plenty then.

As you've mentioned 60fps I suspect you've got vsync turned on. Try turning it off in the nvidia drivers and see if that helps the stuttering.
