I orded a CPU from Australia and it is held at customs?

Ahhh yes, in that case, Global Shipping Programme means that you have already paid all-in and the £8.50 admin/handling fee from Parcel Force won't apply and you won't have to phone them up.

I've been done from Australia. You can ring them up and get the reference number so that you can pay online or wait for the card to come through the post.

As this is through the Global Shipping Programme you'll just have to sit and wait for it to be delivered by a courier.

my concern would be the 45 day limit to make a claim if the item is faulty etc.

Where would you stand if it takes more than 45 days? I would start a dispute before the 45 day time limit, just in case. You can cancel if the item arrives fine.

Good luck, you will end up paying more now than it would have cost here, we've been stung twice this year, the 2nd item being a $5 usb stick, they stuck £37 charges on it. Needles to say, i let them send it back to NZ - and it probably cost them more :D

Why did you have to pay if they had done the global shipping and customs on it?

That is Parcelforce for you. No pay no get. Even if you dispute it. At least with Fedex it is delivered and 2 - 3 weeks a letter on the fee.

Though I remember one U.S. company with UPS you had to pay the import fees to the delivery guy.

I ordered an intel i7 processor from eBay Australia due to its very low price and I checked Parcel Force and it says it is held at customs. However, it has been a week now and it still hasn't been cleared. Any thoughts? Why is customs taking this long?
