I passed but I think I'm a bit stupid

I don't understand how you wont be driving for another 4 years.
Back in my day you had your car ready prepared and ready to jump in at the test station the second the examiner finished the paperwork.

FREEEEDDDDDDOOOOOOMMMM

If there was a reasonable way of insuring I'd be all over this. Unfortunately, there's not.

Why 4 years? Good examples of shopping trolly cars can be had sub £1000 easy. If you are using public transport work out how much you spend vs how much insurance and fuel costs. I guy I worked with paid more in bus and train tickets to get into work than I do in petrol and insurance, and I live further away than he did.

Sure there is the cost of the vehicle and servicing/consumables but think of the freedom!

I'll tell you something matey

I probably could afford a car, but that's about it.

Insurance is a massive joke, also probably going to uni soon so wouldn't need one.

£1000 car + £1000 insurance (more if you are male and under 25) + tax + fuel + MOT + service. Without budgeting for repair and new tyres. It's not far off to suggest it will cost at least £3,000 a year minimum or the first year and £2k per year after.

I don't know about you, £3000 is a LOT of taxi fares! And as a student, £3000 is like a year's rent in some cities!
