I PASSED!!!

First off, CONGRATS :D

I'm doing a resit today for my final project in my PGDip in Advanced Architectural Design, doesnt matter about the percentage as long as I pass :) Had a horrible time with it all year and my project failed by the odd percent, needless to say I've put a shedload of effort in and I should find out in the next week or two.

I hope to be spamming the forums with a thanks for info thread too :p

Yes, in the same summer as the original exam. Not sure what happens if you fail the resit (nobody failed any resits in my class this year so I can't see the Board of Examiners decision for that scenario).
Ah, at my uni a resit pretty much only gives you credits basically, and if you need a percentage for anything prior to your final mark a pass counts as 40%. Renders them useless in the final year, so they're not offered.

Same.

But if you don't get all of the credits then your average percentages from all units don't get classified in the 1st 2:1 2:2 3rd system... you just get a 'pass' degree... which isn't so useful in the world of work.

Getting 40% on this exam doesn't affect my overall classification (0% would not have been bad enough to give me an overall 3rd, and 100% would not have been good enough to give me an overall 2:1) but without passing the exam I would not have been awarded the 2:2 I was heading towards already. Politics I guess.

Yeh any resist/late hand in at my Uni would only give you a maximum of 40%. Which, as you say, destroys your average.

Are there some Uni's where you can get a proper mark back with a resist ?

If so........

Congratulations! What now Joe? :p Completely missed your post in my spider thread. Welcome back.

Good question!

Back in the UK on October 7th... find temp work in Devon... graduate in November... wait for visa papers to come through (6-10 months from now)... travel to Chicago... get married... and then ??? ...

Well, the next few months are figured out at least. I don't know what I'm doing after emigration, might end up in Nebraska - Jenn has just applied for a job there.
