I pick things up and put them down :)

Saturdays session!

Squat
(Oly shoes and paused)
5x60
1x80
1x100
1x120
1x140
1x160

No shoes, no pause
4x180
3x180
2x180
3x180

Bicep pain was pretty bad today :(

Hang clean - press
5x40
5x5x60

Bench
(slow eccentric to ease them pain!)
5x40
5x60
5x80
5x100
5x90

Supersets of pain :D
10x10kg plate raise
10x60kg kirk row (or something like that)
10x20kg curlz

Did 3 sets of that and was wrecked!

Snatch works, stretch and done :P

AWFUL pain in my biceps today kinda ruined my olympic attempts, got a few okayish lifts but nothing to write home about!

Went a seminar on benching, talked to the host about my issues, he massaged my bicep, told me what caused it, how to correct it and within 30mins I'd set 2 new PBs :)

Bench 135
Bench 140

Both felt fast :D turned a crap day into an AWESOME DAY!

Back is a bit tight after grappling last night and my neck is ruined! NECK GAINZ!

I'll see how it feels later and decide what to squat then and there!

Must be time for a squat PB soon though :D

Training last night was non existent.....biceps got massaged, flossed and generally butchered!

Today they feel good though :) short term loss, long term gain? :)

So it's a year to the day since I stopped taking drugs....errrr supplements...

I did it to see what effect they were having on me both in training and in my day to day life.

Lifts then:
Squat 150x5
Bench 110x4
Dead 215
BW: 86-89

Lifts now:
Squat 210x2
Bench 140
Dead 250x2
BW: 90-93

So I've made big gains without the use of supplements, I've also gained 4kgs in body weight.

As for my general day to day life I've felt more energetic especially in the morning, this was very noticeable at the start of this little experiment.

Health has been on and off, I've had a few more colds and a bad flu since then. I've also picked up more injuries this year than ever before.

So what's next?

The plan is to supplement again.

3 main reasons for this;
1) Meat is expensive, I've been eating meat and drinking a lot of milk to make up for the lack of whey.

2) To see how health/injury rate is affected, I've missed too much training this year, enough is enough!

3) To see how much gainz I make in the next year :D

This isn't a very strict study, there are too many variables to calculate but I'm doing it for the fun of it and to get more attuned to my body.

Great progress in a year, hats off to you.

You got any plans for comps next year?

I have no doubt you'll get a worthy total. I may convince myself to qualify next year if I man up.

Winning total for this year in the 93s was 262.5 / 172.5 / 350 - 785

Yea was counting on Tom having a bigger squat than that but he missed his 2nd lift I think and played it safe. Scary strength!!

You're kinda stuck between two worlds right now aren't you? BB / PL
