I purchased a PC game from a Key website using paypal - Key turned out to be used What are the chances of a refund?

UPDATE: Just got a reply from Paypal. Ive showed them the conversions etc and they've said I am not entitled to a refund (siding with the seller). Don't shop at G2A i guess.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
wow.

only time I ever had a key not work was cdkeys and they issued me a new key after I took photos of the key inputted correctly and the screen saying the keys used.

was an xbox key but on asteam you can still get a list of what products are activated on your steam account as proof the key couldn't have worked for you.

I guess if your steam account doesn't have many games they would be less likely to believe it though.

I have never bought expensive keys from key sites. The most I have spent is 10 on one key
Same, it’s very rare I’ll spend more than £15 on a key site.
As far as I remember I’ve never had any issues, and have used the likes of Kinguin now and then.

To the OP, I wish you luck.

The only legitimate third party key sellers I'm aware of are Green Man Gaming and Fnatical.

CDKeys are relatively safe but an iffy prospect if you care about money going to the dev.
Gamersgate, DLGamer, Wingamestore. TBH, I think anything that's on r/gamedeals, isthereanydeal.com, or augmented steam (because it's part of isthereanydeal.com) are generally 'legitimate' sites. For note - CDkeys does NOT appear on these sites as they aren't authorised resellers as they're a grey site.

I accept there's a chance to get a bad key but weighing all the savings over time it's worth it. The only time I did have a bad key Kinguin sorted another key very quickly. I tend to use AllKeyShop as an index and stick to the better known sellers.

You might as well pirate games from that perspective, in fact you'd be doing many developers a favour if you did. Cheap grey market sites often obtain keys in every dodgy ways, supporting them equals supporting very questionable people rather than the people putting the work in.

Buying a grey market key very often means the dev gets zero from the transaction, and that's worse again for indie devs. It's shocking to me that people will spend bucketloads on PC hardware, even to the point of going custom WC for no actual reason other than fun/aesthetics, but then skimp out on paying the dev's of games they're playing.

CD Keys is fine, not had any problem with them over the years and I normally get my day one releases via them at a (regional) discount. If EA or whatever can operate globally, then I will also. Devs still get my contribution; but in not in GBP.

Had a problem with a key (duplicate) I bought from CDkeys on Friday. Contacted support and gave them the information they needed.
They kept me updated at every step and today I received a replacement key.
It was a pain but they did handle it very well.
