I really want to get my book published, but my mate is taking too long!

Hello Guys,

I really apologize for not getting back to you sooner!

Last night I had posted this thread and was up for about half an hour and was checking back constantly looking for some of your opinions on what I can do to get this book out there in the public domain. Then I decided to go to bed. I seem to have a habit of writing all my threads at night which is why you see that I never seem to reply to them. It's just sometimes I am not on the computer all day. Till evening like tonight.

So I am here and have read through all your posts.

Thanks for the great help I think I am going to have to get an agent.

Don't worry I have copies of this book. I am not silly enough to only hand out one to my friend.

He originally said he was very interested in reading but he also has a very busy life with his job. He has given me back some useful insight. I am just waiting till he finished the whole book so that I can take on board all this thoughts so my second draft can be a superb read. But from all this waiting which is too long I want to take matters back into my own hands and get myself someone else that can help this book come to fruition.

That's all well and good, but we're more interested in Bourbon Biscuits.

Post some pages for us to read.

Oreo's are pretty cool, they were half price at the post office a few weeks back. Open your minds people...

At least tell us what genre the book falls into...

I'll happily proof read a couple of pages, I'm a proud grammar nazi!! Although frankly everything needs a second draft; nobody will ever have written something worth reading that wasn't drafted three or four times.

There are websites where you can upload your own ebooks for sale or free distribution, which is a great way to get it "out there".

For those biscuit fans, 00:30 on BBC3. It's the 'Two Pints of Lager & a Packet of Crisps' episode with the 'Biscuit Rap'.

It's been bugging me all night; I can't remember the name of the one that I'd heard of!!! I read it in the Guardian's technology section a while ago, something about user generated content and Web 2.0 and all that jazz, and can't for the life of me remember the name! For some reason it stuck in my mind as Lulu, so it might be something a bit like that...

edit: in fact, it is!

DVDBunny's 'get rich quick' ideas are brilliant. I'm just waiting for him to start a thread asking for help getting his Christian rock band to platinum.

Thats the only funny one!

Back to the original post (before the biscuit banter)
I demand two things:
That everyone in this thread gets a mention in the book in some way
&
We see some pages or at the very least you tell us a brief outline of your book.

You know, that's not a bad idea. In the 50's everyone was happy because all the music was happy. Now we've got sleazy teenage popscum and alienated angsty metal rockstars or whiny depressed indie piano music as the mainstream. The time is right to feel good, decent, proud and happy again, bring on the Christian rock revolution!
