I still don't get Memory?!

I have a Q6600 system with 2gb of "OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR3, PC3 10666, 9-9-9-26 Memory" - its all fine, no errors, but I would like to up it a bit if I could. The only problem is that my motherboard only takes DDR3 (and in dual channel) - before this computer I would always just chuck in more DDR2 as it costs less than a 2nd class stamp =P But at over £60 a set, I want to be more careful with this memory.

The specs say 9-9-9-26 but my motherboard automatically sets it to 9-9-9-24. This should be faster right? To overclock further, should I just decrease these values, and up voltage when it becomes unstable?

Also, what's the difference between 10666 and 8500 e.t.c?

I've just got a 64bit O.S (Windows 7 Beta, and I'm fairly sure I'll stick with it after the release) so I can now put up to 16gb of RAM in. This would be a waste wouldn't it? Would 16gb be much faster than 4gb?

Sorry for the millions of questions, but the more I read up on Memory the more I get confused!

Lower timings mean the memory is more responsive but lowers the top speed (Mhz) the ram can run at, generally it's about striking a balance between speed and responsiveness. Anything over 4GB is a waste in my eyes get 6 if you really want to spend money and future proof yourself a bit
