I suck at them but I really like them. For example I couldn't get past the boss in dragons age origin. I kept dying in witcher and didn't know what to do at times. In guildwars I have a fully leveled up character I think, but I don't know how play it properly or do good in it. I also sturggle in choosing what skills to upgrade and usually end up choosing the wrong ones.

What are you good at then? I've never found RPG's hard ( with the notable exception of the start of action RPGs, where the gameplay is that of an action game)

If you enjoy them mate then it doesn't really matter if you're good or bad.

Maybe play one while reading a walk through and try to understand why they chose what spells etc. I'm the opposite of you I'm really good but I over complicate them, I'll happily restart a character I'd spent 100+hours on because of 1 skill point wrong.

Yeah but it's no fun being bad. I do like it when I get good moments though.

Also something that really annoys em is that I never know what class is right for me :(

I find RPGs don't generally require much skill but require a lot of knowledge about the game and a lot of knowledge/experience from other RPGs, as they all tend to copy eachother really.

Using wiki sites really helps when deciding which stats and skills to pick as they often give more information than you're given in the game.

This really... unless you're playing online and think your gods gift to gaming :p

It takes a long time to learn how to play a character effectively in GW, not just the time it takes to reach lvl20. The difference is you know you can't, I've seen many, many people who know absolutely nothing but think they're awesome.

The boss? DA:O has many bosses. If you mean the Ogre well that thing is a royal pain in the ass and you should probably consider lowering the difficulty.

Witcher can be a bit vague sometimes and also rather unforgiving with certain enemies.

I guess so.

The race/class you choose can really effect the difficulty of the game. It might sound like fun to cast spells and raise the dead but often a warrior class is easier to master, in my experience.

You need to know what your character is best suited to (hand to hand combat, blades, distance weapons, magic) then develop their skills accordingly.

It varies from game to game but generally speaking you have to put a lot of planning into how you choose to develop your character. Make too many errors early on and they'll come back to hinder you later on.

But enjoying them is the main thing :)

i feel the same way. I loved GW but i felt sometimes i was a little out of my depth. It was my first mmorpg and it took a while getting the correct skill sets to allow me to get the most out of my character. I dont like a rpg thats overly complicated. Ive never played wow it just does not appeal to me, however i am looking forward o playing guild wars 2. Also for the first time im going to be getting skyrim, ive decided its time i jumped into a single player rpg to better equip myself for future rpg and up coming gw2.

I'm kind of the same but only when it comes to strategy RPGs like DA:O. When it comes to traditional turn Based JRPGs I'm perfectly fine with them, even got pretty far into a no-level Final Fantasy IX challenge and I've completed numerous FFVIII challenges.

To be honest, it's probably because you're 12 :p. When you get older you'll probably understand the mechanics etc more and ths be better at the game.

I have always found RPG games a bit easy aswell.

Have always been good at them, Then again I usually watch videos about them.

I always just lower the difficulty if i get stuck in an RPG. There is no shame in it! It's all about the story and enjoyment for me anyway.

I played The Witcher 2 for example on the easiest level as it just didn't make any sense playing it on anything harder

It doesn't matter if you're 'bad' - who's to say what's bad and what's good. I appreciate what you mean by wanting to get better, it annoys me when I can't do something too or when I know I'm not very good. But, if you enjoy them then that's the main thing in my opinion.

Not so much the case these days :p

Though yes, sometimes it can be a case of the character you choosing being either difficult to master for the game or simply being overpowered and easy to play. If you look at DA:O, 2 handed warriors are generally disliked over dual wielding... but you can still play it effectively if you have a plan for your characters while Magic can be a struggle in the very beginning but will soon become able to decimate common foes like they were wet paper bags.

Oblivion would probably be the best example. If you go Breton Mage you'll be good for magic and fairly resilient but if you go High Elf Apprentice you'll be getting ripped a new 1 every time you fight anyone using magick/elemental attacks but can cast more expensive spells for longer.
