I think Raymond has been up to it again

A LOT has changed in 10 years. A lot more than i think you realise.

I think you've chosen the wrong photographer for your wedding.

Apart from just after you receive them how often do people look at or show off their wedding photos ? Maybe once when a long forgotten relative shows up , once again when your kid is old enough to ask about your wedding, once again just before you sign those divorce papers ?

And how many of those people care about photo quality over the actual event ?

Must surely have been a bit dubious to start with - hiring two 'professionals' for a total of £750 to do something that will likely take up a whole day on a Saturday or Sunday (including working late) and a day or two (in total) of work afterwards with post processing etc...

The price, in itself, seems fishy to me - just hiring one photographer would surely be more like 1.5k at least - someone charging less than wouldn't appear to be running a viable business IMHO - unless they were perhaps doing it as a part time thing...

Can someone post the picture from the Post your GF thread where Raymond looks like an asian Ronnie Corbett and there's a girl with legs taller than his body? I can't remember whose wife she is.

As an aside, I think his pictures are good. Really good :)

He really is little.

I stole my gfs laptop, so have now looked at base fees. Technically fiancée, hence why I was interested... That said the wedding won't happen for a few years. Might keep it in mind...

But yeah please Keep posting images, even if you just reduce the watermark to (c) Raymond Lin. Whilst some people seem a bit anti, for no apparent reason, I do really enjoy your photos....

How can someone technically be your finance?

I stand by what I said about the tomato pictures, though I've also said that Raymond is very talented and takes some stunning shots. As for having a big whohar about the watermarks, it was a stupid decision. Big wow if he puts his watermark and a link to his site. It's hardly like OcUK sell photography services.

.

I admit it would be hard for her to technically be my finance.... But I said technically fiancée, because it's just easier to call her gf all the time, but we're actually engaged...

He took that standing up i heard:p

Got a genuine lol.

I don't know how wedding photographers get away with it. 10 Years ago we paid £600 for a photographer at our wedding. The albums gathering dust in the loft as we speak.

Nowadays with friends/guests all taking their own Digi cameras there is no need to hire a photographer anymore. The whole day is captured.... for nothing!

From what I've seen, it seems that there are photographers out there, not mentioning names, who take a very relaxed style, and basically capture the day as it goes through. So they do the traditional wedding photos, but also capture some amazing candids..... Also would your wife say the same thing about your wedding photos....

Depends what you want really, if you just want a bunch of snaps then great, let random people at the wedding do it.

If you want decent wedding photographs, get a photographer and not just a cheap one.

Luckily my brother is a photographer, so should I get married (which I doubt) I'd probs ask him to take a few pics.

I would rather my mum take pics on disposable camera than pay 4k for it though.

Exactly, the inflated price of everything to do with weddings offends me.

Thankfully when I got married many moons ago we managed to get a great deal for a unique wedding including good photography for a very reasonable price. Nowadays they just add a few zeroes on the end to be stuffed conveyor belt style through a hotel.

Most wedding photographers are needlessly inflated while only a handful are genuinely worth their price. We have already established this long ago though from the article in the op and the discussion that followed.

Likewise there was a small business that opened up about 6 months ago down here and I noticed the URL in the shop banner so visited it and saw they boasted over 20 years experience with all these accreditations so I thought why not and checked out their galleries.....

Let's just say that the premises is now a tattoo parlour!

I don't see what Raymond's skills has got to do with this thread? :/

Every person's wedding that Raymond has taken have been more than blown away by his photography. If you don't like him, don't book him for your wedding, simples. Sure, his style is not for everyone, but he's a good artist.

If you're too stupid to check out the portfolio before booking a photographer then more fool you.

Could be worse. The photographer at my Cousin's wedding had her camera on the wrong setting(no idea how) which meant she wasn't actually taking pictures.. She was supposed to be a professional yet had to ask guests to send her their pictures of the wedding as she had none of her own..

I think Raymond's rates are actually quite reasonable - if I was having a UK wedding I would definitely want him to be my photographer.

Absolutely, I love his style and how he captures the day.

He will be my wedding photographer, that's already been decided. :)
