The screenshots do it no justice whatsoever.

With a good rig you expect to be able play at good fps / good quality, if anyone had to drop quality with an 8800 I dont think they'd be very happy.

First and foremost.

Its NOT a demo, its a BETA.

Beta generally means its not finished yet, a demo is usually part of the finished product.

Secondly as mentioned above the beta is unoptimised, has debug code inbedded in the game and does not currently support multi-threading of any sort.

The final game will support upto quad core (possibly more) be 32 and 64 bit and obviously be properly optimised.

BETA normally means its feature complete just has some bugs that need fixing

they should have called this an alpha

Not really, there are many beta's i can think of that are not feature complete yet.

Beta is generally the term used for the first release of software shown outside of the company/organisation. It can sometimes mean feature complete but generally isnt the case. It also a time for developers to optimise and adjust the software features and iron out knwon or unknown bugs.

A majority of the beta's released publically are generally feature complete, but closed beta's and/or software still under NDA are not normally feature complete.
