After having a PS3 since MW2 came on, I have enjoyed it very much. All my family members have PS3's, but I haven't touched the thing in ages, played a little when MW3/Skyrim came out but after that nothing.

I'm a car fan and GT5 was a let down imo, I like the customisation in a game but GT5 didn't have what I wanted. After watching youtube Vids of Forza 4 I am wanting to change to an xbox.

The question is should I? I don't use the PS3 for bluray as I watch mine all on the laptop/cinema.

What can the xbox provide me with that the ps3 can't? I just want one to play forza 4, not interested in any other games.

It's that cheap there's no point making a thread, if you want one then buy one. :p

I wanted other peoples opinion. I do like the PS3, but I just don't play it enough, want a change to the XBOX for Forza, but, what I am afraid of is buying the XBOX not liking it then wanting a PS3 again. :/

Do you have to sell the PS3 in order to afford the 360? If you don't then I'd suggest keeping both. In terms of exclusive apps the only reason I'd pick a 360 up is Sky Player, which is pretty good, especially as I don't have a recording Sky box in my room. Doubt I'd buy a console just for one game though.

Im thinking along the same lines, Forza 4 looks pretty epic, GOW too, the only thing that puts me off an xbox is live.

I don't need to, but I don't see the purpose of having the PS3 either. I enjoyed MGS 4, but the I'm sure I read the HD series is coming out on both consoles.

I could do with Sky Player, iPlayer etc I watch on the laptop so it's ok.

Non of my mates have xbox's so can't really try it out. However even my family members are thinking about buying an xbox, since the community is much larger.

Sky Player is probably the best thing on the 360, they have Facebook, YouTube and Last.fm but all three of those are better used on a laptop/phone whereas I find I'd rather sit down and relax in front of Sky Player on my TV, instead of having to huddle in front of a 13" laptop screen. If you don't use the PS3 at all then I'd trade it in, it's not as if you can never go back to it if you don't like/don't use the 360 as much as you thought.

By the way, I'm not sure the community is "much larger". One of the huge advantages is that every console comes with a microphone, something Sony should also have done which is probably one of the main reasons why the 360 feels much more a social experience, as well as the cross game chat of course. Saying that the community as a whole is much larger makes it sound as if you'd be struggling to find a match in FIFA or Call of Duty or GT5 or whatever when the reality is you can jump in and find an online session in these games just as quickly as you'd be able to on the 360.

On Street Fighter it's defo hard to find a game on the PS3. Takes around 4-5 times, maybe even longer sometimes, whether that is SF as a game I'm not sure.

It just seems more social, MW3 for me was ok but finding a game sometimes just took the pee.

MW3 was a problem with the matchmaking, not a problem with too few players being online I believe. All of the games that I play online never struggle to find opponents for me, but to be fair most of them are fairly recent releases. I can't really comment on SF because I haven't played it online though I imagine older games will be harder to find people playing online it's still not some barren wasteland with very few players. There are millions of people playing online. :p

You'll definitely feel the benefit of a 360 if you post here often though, it seems that virtually every multi platform game is picked up on the 360 here.

An old original Xbox wouldnt cost much these days. Just make sure the seals are intact (so you know it hasnt been RROD repaired, therefore giving a good chance to repair if RROD does happen!) keep it in a well ventilated area.

Core/Arcade system should be cheap, but coupled with a USB memory stick upto 16GB gives plenty of storage space. Older ones dont have HDMI ports, so worth trying to get one with HDMI.

If you're feeling really lucky, you can pick up RROD consoles for as little as £10, sometimes with all the cables/powerpacks/controllers etc. Cost about £1 to repair. Search eBay for local sales, people who do not want to post. Try to make sure it hasn't already been repaired, or check their feedback for other buying/selling of Xbox's. I'd pay upto £25 if you know it hasn't been opened and came with all the original accessories.

Imo you should get an xbox if you can afford one as I personally find it a lot more fun to play than the ps3 (have both) and have considerably more games for it. It just seems more accessible, less boring and better even though it might not have the same spec.

Do it. Nothing like a shiny new toy. If after a year you want to move back you can.

Pick up a few cheaper older games too. PGR4 is an amazing racer.
