i want to get a h100i for neatness/practicality..is it that bad?

There is a control button directly on the cooler, which has three stages of fan speeds I believe.

How do the fans run on a h100 compared to the i, obv you don't have the link software.

The switch on the pump/cooler block has three settings - Quiet, Balanced and Performance. The block connects to your CPU header and reads off of that, then adjusts the fans to meet the demands the header calls for, but within the setting you have selected.

You do have to take the side panel off to physically push the button, though, which is a right PITA if you're fussy about either your cooling or your volume levels between activities!!
